Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Your driver picks you up at your Kigali hotel and takes you toward Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The 4-hour drive crosses the border between Rwanda and Uganda, and you'll see those famous terraced mountains along the way—this region gets called the 'Switzerland of Africa' for good reason. You'll roll in around late afternoon, so there's time for a self-guided walk through the nearby villages before heading back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

- Day 2
Bwindi Gorilla Trekking and Return to Kigali
Start early with breakfast, then head to Bwindi National Park for gorilla trekking. Your ranger guide leads you through the forest, and the trek usually takes somewhere between 2 to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are that day. They'll point out details about the plants, animals, and how the gorillas behave as you go. You'll spend about an hour with the gorillas once you find them, then return to the lodge for lunch. After that, the drive back to Kigali brings the day to a close.
