- Paul· September 16th, 2019Was awesome!!! Ricardo was the best guide ever, always there when you need him, and helped us to organise stuff when we went off on our own. Highly recommend this tourShow more
- Jyoti· February 21st, 2018As I wanted to cover as much as I could of South America, I choose Oasis Overland as they covered the most in comparison to the other tour sites and for a great price. Our tour leader and driver were absolutely amazing and the other passengers on the tour made the trip, what it was, unforgettable. Oasis covered the main bits that I wanted too and then some. I would definitely book through them again.Show more
- Craig· March 2nd, 2024Be warned this is a bare bones tour where Oasis provides transportation, a way to group prepare food and money for that food when not in town (but no refrigeration and a tight budget), and minimal accomodations. You will normally stay in dorm rooms, often with people not traveling with you, or stay in gas station parking lots in provided tents, some that leaked. While included activities are included, they are few. Optional and other activities are the responsibility of the passengers to locate and book themselves. Accomodations aren't always in town. An example is where the description talks about Devil's Island and the European Spaceport, the only Oasis affordable accommodation in Kourou was a campground 20 km out of town in a town famous for few taxis. So it was next to impossible to visit both of them without 'leaving the truck' for several days and finding our own transportation and own more expensive accomodations. Which some of us did. We lucked out on Kaieteur Falls because we just happened to have the right number of passengers who wanted to go in order to charter a flight and one of the passengers was willing to organize it. But don't count on seeing the falls unless you 'leave the truck' for many days to catch a scheduled flight with enough passengers. In the future I will likely take busses and book my own accomodations to save money and see more. Or go on all inclusive tours. Some people really like the forced social interaction on a budget and some liked they didn't have to think about the transportation or accomodations, only the rest for a bit more cost than self travel. This trip is for them.Show more

Asked on February 17th, 2024I am looking for an expedition that starts January 2025 and ends in March or April 2025. I am thinking about doing this in 2025 and 2026 for three to fourth months at a time.
- Oasis OverlandOperator•Written February 2024
At Oasis Overland, we can assist you with booking a seat on one of our expeditions as a traveller. I'm afraid we don't offer volunteer programs or positions to be part of the crew. This is, however, a fully participatory travel style, so there will be plenty to do during the trip.

Traveler•Written February 2024Interested in: Santiago to Rio trip, which is from the 8th January to the 27 February 2025. Please provided me a travel itinerary on this.
- Oasis OverlandOperator•Written February 2024
We have only a handful of seats left for this section. Therefore, if the trip looks like the one you'd like to book, we recommend booking as soon as possible.

Asked on November 23rd, 2023Bus with aircon? Hotels /hostels accomodation ! Would there be optional or local expenses
- Oasis OverlandOperator•Written November 2023
Transport is by overland expedition trucks. These trucks don't have aircon, no. These are mostly camping trips and most of the nights are spent in tents. We overnight at campsites that have shared washing/toilet facilities, but on some nights we "rough it up" where bush toilets must make do. Some nights are spent in basic hostels. At the beginning of the trip, cook groups are formed and these cook groups will be responsible for preparing the meals which are usually breakfasts and dinners. Lunches are usually taken at local restaurants. All in all, we like to call the Oasis Overland trips "experiences" rather than holidays since the trips are rustic and hands on.

this tour is definitely not operating in February 2023 and was cancelled due to us not reaching our minimum passenger requirement.

Asked on December 23rd, 2022I'm a 19 year old female traveler and I am interested in one of your tours however I was wondering what the average age of people taking part in this expedition was (18 weeks rio to Cartagena )? As well as that I was curious if I would get any free time to explore the countries separate from the group.
- Oasis OverlandOperator•Written December 2022
Due to operational reasons, we had to cancel this departure. You may look at joining the 2024 departure, if your travel dates are flexible.
