Arrival in Umeå
You'll arrive in Umeå on Sweden's Baltic coast and get picked up by your tour guide. After settling into your hotel in the city center, there's dinner and a briefing about what's coming up during your Arctic trip.

Landmarks Gulf of Bothnia - Kvarken - Day 2
Umeå to Lycksele
Start with a one-hour walking tour of Umeå that covers both the modern and older parts of town, including the art museum and cultural centers. There's a stop at a Swedish bakery along the way, then you'll head inland toward Lycksele. Once there, you can walk around town or, when the ice is thick enough, try a tracked Nordic pedal sledge across the frozen landscape.

Husky Sledding in Lapland
Drive out to a husky farm where 36 Alaskan huskies live with their musher. After getting a feel for the dogs and helping get the harnesses ready, you'll actually drive the sleds in pairs across forests, frozen lakes, and open moors. Lunch happens over an open fire on a Finnish cast-iron grill, then you'll make your way back to Lycksele by afternoon.

- Day 4
Piteå to Luleå
Travel through small villages in Lapland heading toward Piteå, which sits at the mouth of the Piteälv river where it meets the Baltic. There's an optional chance to try pitepalt (northern Swedish stuffed potato dumplings) if you want. From there, continue to Luleå and then to Gammelstad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with about 400 red wooden huts that make up the largest preserved church village in Northern Europe.

- Day 5
Luleå to Kiruna
Head north along the Luleälv River and Via Lappia route until you cross the Arctic Circle and enter the European Arctic. Stop at the Ajtte Museum in Jokkmokk to learn about Sami culture and the history of indigenous Lapland. Later you'll reach Kiruna and, if the weather cooperates, search for Northern Lights in the evening.

- Day 6
Kiruna Moose Watching and Icehotel
Drive to Nikkaluokta valley early to look for moose that gather there during winter. Later, head to the small village of Jukkasjarvi to tour the famous Icehotel and see the ice art suites created by international artists each year. Your afternoon is free to either walk around Kiruna's residential neighborhoods with their traditional wooden houses or rent snowshoes and cross-country skis to explore nearby trails.

- Day 7
Kiruna to Tromsø via Finland and Norway
Leave Kiruna heading north toward the Finland border, crossing into Finnish tundra at Karesuando. Visit a Sami reindeer farm near Kilpisjarvi where Mia and Niti Vasara share their way of life and traditions. Continue into Norway to see the Lyngenfjord (a 121 km long fjord) and drive along the Atlantic coast until you reach Tromsø, which many call the secret capital of the European Arctic.

- Day 8
Tromsø Arctic Experience and Northern Lights Cruise
Spend your day exploring Tromsø, a lively university town right on the Arctic Ocean coast. Tour the city including the Polar Museum, Tromsø University Museum, and the cathedral on the central island. The afternoon is yours to explore on your own. That evening, board an electric catamaran through Tromsø Fjord while enjoying a 3 course Arctic dinner and searching for Northern Lights with mountain views.

- Day 9
Departure from Tromsø
Your Arctic journey ends on the Norwegian coast. After breakfast, you'll head to Tromsø Airport for your flight home, carrying memories of the Arctic winter, Northern Lights, and Scandinavian wilderness.
