Cairo
You'll arrive in Cairo and check into your five-star hotel. If your flight gets in early, your tour leader will hold a welcome briefing this evening, or it'll happen tomorrow morning instead.

- Day 2
Cairo
Start at the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities where you'll see relics dating back to 4000 BCE and treasures from Tutankhamun's tomb. After that, head to Al Azhar Mosque, one of Cairo's oldest active religious sites. Later in the afternoon, wander through the Cairo bazaar with its narrow alleyways and traditional shops.

Cairo
After breakfast, you'll spend the morning on a half-day tour to the Pyramids at Giza to see the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus, along with the Sphinx. The afternoon is yours to relax by the hotel pool or, if you're interested, take an optional trip to Sakkara.

- Day 4
Cairo to Luxor
You'll transfer to Cairo airport before sunrise for your flight to Luxor. Once you arrive, visit Luxor Temple and the massive Karnak Temple complex on the east bank of the Nile, where you can see the impressive Hypostyle Hall with 134 columns. Board your cruise ship in time for lunch, then spend the afternoon relaxing or exploring Luxor on your own.

- Days 5 - 6
Luxor to Aswan
Explore the Valley of the Kings on the west bank where you'll visit three tombs of pharaohs including Tutankhamun, Seti I, and Ramses III and IV, all decorated with brightly painted hieroglyphics. Next, visit Hatshepsut Temple and the Colossi of Memnon. Return to your cruise boat and sail upstream to Aswan with stops at the temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo. The following day continues upstream with time to enjoy the Nile scenery and onboard amenities like the sundeck, pool, bar, restaurant, and library.

Aswan
Spend the day exploring Aswan's relaxed Nubian character and lively bazaar filled with exotic spices, carpets, leather goods, and other wares. Or choose the optional flight to Abu Simbel to see Ramses II's magnificent temples, which were relocated above Lake Nasser. Later, you'll go on a sunset sail on a traditional felucca wooden sailing boat with cushions and a canopy.

- Day 8
Aswan
After breakfast on board, you'll disembark and visit Philae Temple on Aglika Island, which UNESCO relocated in the 1970s to save it from flooding by Lake Nasser. Also visit the Aswan High Dam. Optional activities include the Unfinished Obelisk (local fee applies) and a trip to Animalia Nubian Village with a farewell dinner before heading back to your Aswan hotel.
