Raj organized everything beautifully, even though we had to unexpectedly change dates and itinerary. He was always cheerful, helpful and prompt in picking me up and dropping me off. My guide Kami knew the trail well and took excellent care of me. He chose good tea houses to stay in and modified my trek when he thought I needed an extra acclimatization day(I did). He spoke good English and was always cheerful and encouraging, and always attending to my least little need. My porter Rana could always be counted on to safely transport my main luggage, and always managed to beat me to the tea house even though he was carrying all that weight. The trek itself is great but you must train hard for it.

I give this tour three stars because upon asking the travel agent was so kind to put my trek a few days forward (which included changing my Lukla flight tickets for free) since I already arrived a week earlier in Nepal and I was the only participant of this tour. Also my Lukla-based tour guide: Phubar was a real hero, who was incredibly helpful and caring especially when I developed massive altitude headaches which impacted my overall well-being. However, in general the tour felt quite disjointed and not very well organised. Compared to other travellers who booked tours, I didn't have a tour guide from start (KTM) to finish (KTM), meaning without having the actual flight ticket I made my way to Lukla via Ramecchap on my own (which isn't covered by the tour) since I was told by the travel agent in Kathmandu that I just have to walk up to "the" airline and get my ticket at Ramecchap and so I was under the assumption that there is only one, but when I arrived at 5:30 am after nearly 5 hour van ride from Kathmandu I was greeted by a massive crowd of people somewhat queuing around three different airlines. since it was early I could not get hold of the travel agent and so I wasted a whole hour queuing up at the wrong one. Even after I heard back from the KTM travel agency who informed which airline I should get my boarding pass from, it was still a challenge since the airline didn't want to give me a boarding pass since they wanted to see proof of a ticket which I didn't have, so I ended up calling my travel agent in KTM and handed my phone to the airline manager who eventually processed a boarding pass for me. I also was under the assumption that the tour included a porter (yes yes I should have read the small print better) but the travel agent could have at least mentioned it again days before my trek, which would have prevented me from carrying a 4-kg day pack and a 10-kg backpack up to Lukla. When I spoke to other travellers who paid insignificantly more than me for their tours, had a porter and meals/water included. Overall I didn't feel as well-looked after, it seemed if I wouldn't have ask for things that were part of the itinerary e.g. farewell dinner or accommodation in Kathmandu I would have not received it. The Everest Base Camp trek itself was an amazing, unforgettable and breathtaking experience, and one of the most difficult things I have ever done.

Tea House/Guest Houses we provide are best available with basic room amenities but comfortable bed and warm blankets. Toilets are sitting (Indian style toilet) most of the time. For hot shower you need to pay extra. The package doesn't include porter service, however if you want we can provide which will cost extra USD 250 nett per porter (carrying 15 to 20 kg load). Normally we provide 02 person = 01 porter.

Besides the price quoted, the extra cost will be on meals (approx CA$ 500 to 600 per person extra). Porter (approx CA$ 500 per porter, normally we provide 2 pax = 1 porter who carry 15 to kg load). Other costs like charging, shower, drinks and other personal expenses. Tips expected, but as per your wish how much, according to the satisfaction level of service delivered. No any mandatory vaccination to visit Nepal, but vaccination against maleria, dengue are expected. Also insurance coverage for medical evacuation is must. Pre and post tour accommodation can be arranged at extra cost (approx CA$ 65 to 95 for 3 star hotel per room per night with breakfast)
