- Katharine· April 11th, 2025We enjoyed the trip and were amazed by the landscapes, the plunge pools and the rock paintings. Being on a tour with other people was a challenge at times. Having visited many of the big parks in Africa, we were expecting more wildlife but this was a different kind of experience altogether.Show moreAutopia Tours commented on this reviewThank you for your thoughtful feedback, Katharine! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour. While the wildlife experience may differ from Africa’s big parks, it's wonderful that you embraced the unique beauty of this adventure. - Rodney· September 27th, 2022We did their Kakadu/ Litchfield tour. We paid $850 A DAY for the two of us. I would have expected better for that price. Transport and the leader ( Ben ) was excellent but the food apart for one meal was very, very bad. Cheap wraps everyday for lunch with no fruit or anything else. A cheap pasta dish and a basic BBQ was the two other evening meals which for food l would only give 1 star or less. Accomodation in Darwin was good but the other accommodation was very poor for the price which was paid. Itinerary was a listed but most of the time we just spend driving from waterfall to waterfall. We were bitterly disappointed that on the last day we were looking forward to the ‘Jumping croc tour’ as a optional extra but on the day it was sold out. We believe that we should have been given the opportunity to book it as we booked the whole tour, or even during the first four days of the tour but to go out on the day on the Litchfield tour, only to be told that, that part of the tour was sold out. I would not use this company again.Show moreTrip date: September 2022

Asked on April 25th, 2023Is there a minimum number of people for your group tours? Are there BALANCED vegetarian meals offered?
- Autopia ToursOperator•Written April 2023
Our tours do have a minimum number of people on board, however we are very active when it comes to monitoring our numbers, and only cancel or change tours if it is the worst case scenario. We are not what you mean by balanced, but we do provide a wide arrary of choices for you to select from. These do range from tour to tour, but the meals will be all healthily portioned out and sufficent for the 5 day tour.

Asked on August 23rd, 2022I am a mature aged woman that would like to see NT including Kakadu. I would like a room of my own, NO shared facilities. I plan to go for 5 days, leaving from Brisbane. What do you have? I am reasonably fit but certainly dont want to hike for hours and hours. I like the idea of a coach tour.
- Autopia ToursOperator•Written August 2022
We operate the first 4 days of this tour on a 21 seater 4 wheel drive air conditioned vehicle, but we usually keep it to a maximum of 16 - 17 persons. The 5th day of the tour (which is to Litchfield) will be operated on a 24 seater bus with a maximum of 21 - 22 persons. We have 5 seats left for the departure on Monday 12th September 2022. The accommodation on this tour is based on a Twin share basis. A single room supplement might be an option but this is strictly subject to availability. While the hikes don't go on for hours and hours, they can be up to 5 km return hikes/walks. The temperatures in Kakadu can be quite warm in September (around 38 degrees or so).

Asked on August 11th, 2022If travelling alone, is it possible to get a single hotel room on this tour?
- Autopia ToursOperator•Written August 2022
We offer twin share with another traveller of the same gender as our accomodation suppliers are limited with room types. Once you make the booking, please contact us directly and we can check for you if this is a possibilty but there are no guarantees for single room upgrades.

Asked on August 9th, 2022Can you please advise what is the exact time of the start of the trip?
- Autopia ToursOperator•Written August 2022
The pickups start from around 6.20 am in Darwin city depending on where the customers are getting picked up. We don't pick up from every hotel or accommodation address but we can work out the best possible pick up location for the customers once we know where they are staying. Our default pick up location is Travelodge Resort Darwin, 64 Cavenagh Street, Darwin at 6.30 am.

Asked on July 31st, 2022What sort of accommodation? Can u give me details of where we would stay?
- Autopia ToursOperator•Written July 2022
The accommodation will be on Twin Share Basis (2 single beds). We can try for a double room if required but not guaranteed due to the limited available options. The first 2 nights will be at Anbinik Kakadu Resort. You will have a private room but the shared bathroom facilities will be outside your room. The 3rd night accommodation will be at Pine Creek Hotel. Here you will have ensuite facilities. The 4th night will be Darwin at H on Smith Hotel and will have ensuite facilities as well.

Traveler•Written July 2022Thank you for that info! We are interested in doing this tour but next year! Can u give us details on which is the best time to go! Not too hot as we are retired from Perth and do not do camping out anymore!!
- Autopia ToursOperator•Written July 2022
The dry season is usually between May and October. Mid June to August is probably a good time for you then where the typical temperatures are usually around 29 degrees. But this is something that can't be guaranteed obviously. Please do a bit of research at your end too and see what works best for you.

Traveler•Written May 2022Is it possible to leave the luggage in the hotel and to only bring a backpack while on tour?
- Autopia ToursOperator•Written May 2022
Luggage is strictly 15kg per person and one small backpack. Their accommodation post tour should be able to store luggage they will not need.
- Autopia ToursOperator•Written May 2022
We stay at Anbiniki on the first night and the last hotel will be the H on Smith if doing our 5 day tour. We do not organise pre or post accommodation.

Asked on March 9th, 2022I'm trying to organise a trip for my Dad to do a 5 day tour to Kakadu, he is 60 years of age but is very fit and has no health issues.
- Autopia ToursOperator•Written March 2022
We do not stay in tents on this tour, we use basic motel/resort-style accommodation. This trip is perfectly suited to an active 60yr, who wishes to get out and explore Australia but sleep and travel in comfort.
- Autopia ToursOperator•Written March 2022
Due to the remote location and limited accommodation options, we're not able to offer paid single supplement fare types only twin share.
