- Day 1
Salzburg
You'll arrive in Salzburg and spend your first day getting oriented to Mozart's festival city. Walking through the winding alleyways and charming squares, you'll find the pace relaxed and the atmosphere rich with culture and history. Stop at a local café for traditional Austrian coffee, and take time to explore the old town on foot to get a feel for the place before your cycling adventure starts tomorrow.

- Day 2
Salzburg to Golling
This morning you'll start cycling leisurely through the Salzach meadows heading toward Hallein, a historic Celtic town about 25 km away. Once there, check out the Celtic Museum to learn about the region's ancient heritage. After that, you'll continue pedaling past the Golling Waterfall and arrive in Golling for the night, staying near the charming market square and 13th-century castle that overlooks the town.

- Day 3
Golling to St. Johann
You'll cycle from Golling up to Pass Lueg, and the Tennengebirge mountains come into view as the terrain gets more dramatic. Coming down from the pass, you'll ride through the impressive Salzachöfen gorge with its towering rock walls. Later, you'll pass Werfen and its castle before reaching St. Johann, where the distinctive towers of Pongau Cathedral mark your arrival for the evening.

St. Johann to Mallnitz
Leaving the Salzach Valley behind, you'll head into the Gastein Valley and follow the Gasteiner Ache through wild and romantic alpine scenery. You'll pedal through Dorfgastein and Bad Hofgastein before arriving at Bad Gastein, a famous spa resort where the Gastein waterfall creates a focal point for the town. In the afternoon, you'll board a train through the Alps from Böckstein to Mallnitz, then enjoy an exhilarating downhill ride to your hotel in the Mölltal valley.

You're cycling through impressive high mountain landscapes along the Möll River today. At Möllbrücke, you'll transition into the Drau Valley and enter the sunnier southern Austria region. From there, you'll have an easy pedal through the final kilometers to Spittal an der Drau, a historic town that once served medieval pilgrims as an important transportation hub.

Spittal an der Drau to Villach
You'll cycle along the Drava River on a gentle downhill slope, and the pace feels comfortable and relaxed. Then you'll continue pedaling to Villach, where the old town has a southern feel with cozy pubs and restaurants perfect for spending your evening.

Villach to Kanaltal, Italy

From Tarvisio, you'll cycle comfortably downhill through the scenic Kanaltal valley in Italy, where the untouched natural beauty and extensive forests of the Friulian Alps surround you. You'll stay overnight in one of the pretty villages at the foothills of the Julian Alps.

After exploring, you'll continue toward Udine where vines begin appearing along the route. Once in Udine, take time for Italian coffee in the piazza or wander the alleyways lined with late Gothic and Renaissance buildings.
