Your flight departs today, heading overnight toward southern Italy. Settle in for the journey as you make your way to Rome, where your Italian adventure officially begins.

Rome
You'll land in Rome at various times throughout the day. After getting settled at your hotel, the day is yours to explore at your own pace. That evening, you'll meet your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner celebrating the start of your trip.

Rome
This morning you'll walk through Rome's Renaissance and Baroque neighborhoods with a guide. You'll climb the Spanish Steps for city views, see the Trevi Fountain and Pantheon, then check out the Stadium of Domitian hidden beneath Piazza Navona. The afternoon is free, so you can wander the Monti district or spend time however you like.

Rome to Sorrento
You're heading south to the Sorrentine Peninsula with its dramatic cliffs and rocky coastline. Along the way, you'll stop at a local winery to try Lacryma Christi wine and have lunch. After that, you'll see Pompeii either on a guided tour of the main sites or exploring less-known areas on your own. By late afternoon, you'll reach your Sorrento hotel overlooking the bay with Mount Vesuvius in the distance.

You'll work through a hands-on cooking class using family recipes, then eat what you made for lunch. Back in Sorrento by afternoon, you can wander the narrow streets, browse local shops, or grab some lemon gelato.

Today you're sailing along the coast to Positano, a colorful town with pastel buildings and pebble beaches. Spend time there browsing shops or relaxing by the water. From there, you'll head to Amalfi, a quieter historic town with a striking black and white marble cathedral. You have the afternoon to explore both places before heading back to Sorrento for the evening.

Once on the island, explore the town with its well-known piazza, upscale shops, and outdoor cafes. You'll return to Sorrento in the late afternoon with your evening free.
