Lake Bled
You'll arrive at Lake Bled and have time to wade into the cool glacial waters or walk around the western shoreline where you'll get some of the best views of the surrounding area. After grabbing lunch on the eastern side, try the local cream cake (Krem\u0161nita) while the sun sets over the mountains and reflects off the water.

Lake Bled
Your cycling trip begins in Bled, an alpine town on the banks of a glacial lake. If you arrive with daylight to spare, you can walk the lake or take a boat out to the island church to make a wish. End the evening with Bled's famous cream cake and settle in for the night.

Lake Bled to Bohinjska Bistrica
A short car transfer takes you up to the Pokljuka plateau, then you'll cycle through alpine villages toward Lake Bohinj, the largest and deepest lake in Triglav National Park. You can detour to Savica Waterfall where the lake's water originates, or ride a cable car up Vogel Mountain for views of Mount Triglav, the highest peak in the Julian Alps.

Lake Bled to Bohinjska Bistrica
After a brief car transfer to Pokljuka's high plateau, you'll cycle through alpine villages down to Lake Bohinj, the largest and deepest lake in Triglav National Park. A cable car runs up Vogel Mountain where you can see Mount Triglav, the Julian Alps' highest peak. Savica Waterfall marks the source of the lake if you have time for a side trip.

Bohinjska Bistrica to Tolmin
You have two cycling route choices today. Either pedal over Sorica Pass through the Julian Alps, or take a train through the Bohinj Tunnel to reach Podbrdo. From there, cycling continues through a narrow valley alongside the emerald-green So\u010da River. Stop at Tolmin Gorge to see the Bear's Head, a natural formation created by a massive boulder wedged into the gorge's narrow section.

Tolmin to Solkan
A car transfer brings you to Kolovrat Saddle, where you'll cycle along a ridge offering views high above the So\u010da Valley and the Slovenia-Italy border. The ride spans about 7 kilometres between 800 to 1150 metres elevation. Visit Mrs. Josephine's old-fashioned pub in Kambres\u030cko, the first village, before descending toward Solkan.

After arriving at Kolovrat Saddle by car, you'll cycle the ridge with views over the So\u010da Valley and the Slovenia-Italy border. Stop at Mrs. Josephine's traditional pub in Kambres\u030cko, the first village you'll reach, then continue the descent toward Solkan.

Solkan to Grado
From Solkan, you'll cycle quickly to Gorizia, once the dividing point between Italy and Yugoslavia. Check out a museum covering the region's history, then continue cycling to find the world's smallest military museum housed in an old Yugoslavian outpost. Kostanjevica Monastery comes next before you head south into Italy toward the coast, passing through Friuli Venezia Giulia with its rivers, canals, and ancient Roman cities before reaching Grado, a historic lagoon island resort.
