Our private trip with Magen guide and driver was wonderful. Magen is very knowledgeable and spoke English well and explained the history in detail. Answered all our questions whether it was silly or stupid. The only issue we had was the electrical car they provided. It was a chore to find charging places every day. Migen had to find and wait in the night till late. He did not get much sleep. It was difficult for him to drive in the morning without much rest. He had to stop many times to smoke and drink coffee to keep awake. When we tried talking to the company. They were not helpful and in fact rude. This was the only negative part of the trip. TourBalkans need to address this problem of providing electric cars. We did not about the car. On the whole it was a good trip. Padma and Shankar.

  • Small Group Tour; Montenegro, Albania, N. Macedonia, Kosovo & Bosnia from / to Dubrovnik reviewer 3
    · August 11th, 2025
The tour was described as all ages welcome. This is completely inaccurate. You will spend many, many hours each day in a car (typically over 5 hours plus driving and then there are also long delays at border crossings). The long travel days and long delays at border crossings were not mentioned in the tour. Had they have been I would not have chosen this tour. I went with my 12 year old daughter and I personally felt that the company put our health in jeopardy in order to save a couple of euros. On the second day they swapped out our gas vehicle for an electric vehicle. The infrastructure in this part of the world is lacking for EVs. Fast chargers are few an far between and you're travelling long distances on this tour. We had to choose in 30 degree plus weather whether we wanted to have AC in the car or to be stranded by the side of the road. This doesn't give one peace of mind, especially when travelling with a child. So our guide would roll down the windows in the car to try and keep us from overheating. My face was windburnt, I was hot and uncomfortable and my daughter ended up with heat stress. And our guide couldn't go over 90km despite the speed limit being 120km because we would drain the battery and so we ended up spending even more time in the car then we had to. Whenever the car would creep up to 90 he would break (the constant breaking was also very nauseating). This tour was a lot of travel for not as much reward as you don't get to enjoy your stay in any place. Sometimes we didn't get in until dark. Do not book with this company. They did swap out the EV when I complained but why would any company put their client's well being at risk in the first place(including the life of a child)????

Itinerary and vehicle excellent, guide knowledgable and friendly, accommodation 3 star as promised, breakfast OK but not provided on two occasions, and pre trip advice poor and inadequate. Perhaps there was digital information I missed but what I was was sent included a totally inadequate map that was difficult to relate to the written advice provided. We would not recommend TourRadar based on our experience.

Our guide Ana was amazing! She was very knowledgeable about the history and landmarks that she took us to see. She had great recommendations on where to eat at local places. And she knew where all the great places for photos spots were. Nothing was a problem for her. In regards to the tour itinerary, however, I found that the days were too long with many hours spent in the car. To cover the same itinerary the tour needs to be 2-3 days longer to allow for sufficient time to explore the locations, less time each day in the car and more time at the end to rest. The itinerary itself was really great. I really loved Mostar, staying in the old town of Kotor, the local food tour of Tirana and exploring the old bazaars. Some of the hotels were better than others. The location of the hotel in Ohrid was quite a walk into the old town and the breakfast area was cold and the food was very average.

My friend and I had such a wonderful time on this small group / private tour of the Balkans! We traveled in a 2023 EV and stayed in very nice hotels, which included breakfast. Our guide Almir was also incredibly kind and knowledgeable about the region. This tour is great for travelers interested in learning about the history and nature of the Balkans. No, we have not booked flights or hotels? Not a private tour - other travellers OK, it is part of the experience. We both are in mid-70's, so no major hiking, just cultural.

This tour starts at 7:30am from Dubrovnik, so we will definitely recommend to arrive a day prior. If you arrive on the 1st of September, we can start the tour on the 2nd of September and end the tour on Dubrovnik on the 9th of September. This is the perfect tour for you, and is based in culture and offers an unique experience in the Balkans Countries.

I am an Indian national living in the UK with a valid Tier - 2 visa. This makes me eligible to travel to the countries listed in the tour bar Croatia (Dubrovnik). As Croatia is part of the Schengen countries, I would require a valid Schengen visa for me to arrive there at. Having an invalid Schengen visa currently and to avoid incurring further costs, is it possible for me to directly arrive at Montenegro? Can this itinerary be made flexible accordingly?

In your case, instead of ending the tour in Dubrovnik, we can arrange a private transfer for you to finish the tour in Tirana. The total price for you as a solo traveler is €3,860, based on single-room occupancy in 3-star hotel accommodations. Single Supplement: To guarantee tour departure even for one participant we require a single supplement.

We are happy to inform you that we can organize for you all the required services. Until now we do not have confirmed departures for the mid-August for the requested tour. You can join this tour with the solo traveler price as below: 3560€ on single room occupancy in 3-star hotel accommodation. If you're interested in including Split and Plitvice Lakes in your itinerary, please note that this would need to be arranged as a private tour. Since it's not part of our standard route, we would customize the experience specifically to your request.

Given your 10-year-old's extensive travel experience, this tour should definitely keep him engaged. The Small Group Tour through Montenegro, Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Bosnia offers a great mix of adventure, culture, and history, with plenty of opportunities for exploration that are both fun and educational. Traveling through such diverse countries will give him a chance to experience different landscapes, cuisines, and traditions, which is always exciting for a young traveler.
