You'll land in Copenhagen and get settled for the evening. Your Travel Director hosts a welcome dinner, after which you'll head over to Tivoli Gardens. The summer lights really transform the place, and you'll get a sense of what makes this entertainment park so well-known among visitors.

Copenhagen
A Local Expert takes you through Copenhagen's highlights, starting at the Little Mermaid statue by the harbor. From there you'll see Rosenborg Castle, Amalienborg Palace, and Nyhavn's colorful buildings. Next stop is Christiansborg Palace, followed by the 18th-century Copenhagen Cathedral with its neoclassical style and Denmark's largest bell. The afternoon is yours to use as you like. You might climb the Round Tower (Europe's oldest working observatory) or head out to see castles in the Danish Riviera.

Copenhagen to Stockholm
You'll cross from Denmark into Sweden via the Øresund Bridge, Europe's longest road and rail bridge at 16 kilometers. The route takes you across the artificial island of Peberholm, now home to various plants and animals, then through the Skåne region. Rolling farmlands and views of Lake Vätern come into view as you head toward Stockholm, which spreads across 14 islands. By evening, you might try some traditional Swedish food in local surroundings.

Stockholm
A Local Expert guides you through Stockholm's highlights, including City Hall with its Golden Hall featuring 18 million gilded mosaic tiles and the Blue Hall where Nobel Prize dinners happen. You'll walk through Gamla Stan, the medieval Old Town, to see the cathedral and Royal Palace. The afternoon is free, and the Vasa Galleon museum is optional but worth considering. Later you'll board a Baltic cruise heading to Finland, sailing through the world's largest archipelago while dinner is served and the northern sun stays on the horizon.

Rovaniemi
Heading toward the Arctic means traveling to Lapland, home to the Sami people. You'll stop in Oulu, northern Finland's oldest city and its largest general port in the Bothnian Bay, with islands connected by pedestrian bridges and cycleways. Then you'll continue south to Rovaniemi, Lapland's modern capital.

Rovaniemi
You'll cross the Arctic Circle today, something many travelers consider a real highlight. A Local Expert shows you Alvar Aalto's Town Hall design and Rovaniemi Church. The afternoon is free to check out the open-air museum and Arktikum cultural center if you like.

Ivalo
The morning starts relaxed, or you can join an optional trip to Ranua Wildlife Park to see polar bears, lynxes, and wolverines in their Arctic habitat. You'll visit one of Lapland's oldest churches, then drive through Europe's last great wilderness toward Urho Kekkonen National Park near Tankavaara's gold center.

Crossing into Norway, you'll stop at Karasjok for a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER experience. The Sámi National Museum focuses on preserving Sámi history and culture, and you'll see the Sámii Parliament. Following the scenic Porsanger Fjord, you'll reach Honningsvag. The harbor is worth exploring, and an optional sea bird and Arctic cruise is available. Tonight is the real highlight: you'll travel to Nordkapp, mainland Europe's northernmost point, for a midnight sun experience with bubbles and caviar.

After a relaxed morning you'll travel through Norway's northernmost Finnmark County, known for its unique rolling tundra and isolated houses. This afternoon you'll experience Alta at your own pace. The town is known for fishing and mining history, and you could visit the Northern Lights Cathedral or take an optional wilderness trip along the Alta River.

Starting with a relaxed morning, you'll explore Alta's ancient heritage at the UNESCO-listed Rock Art of Alta, which has thousands of prehistoric carvings showing early Arctic civilization. Later you'll visit a working husky farm and meet the Lyrek family, Arctic dog-sled racing champions. Lunch comes straight from a seasonal oven with fresh Arctic fish or tender reindeer, along with crisp salads and wine. You'll learn about the Alaskan huskies bred for endurance and meet young pups that might become future champions.

Narvik
You'll pass Kåfjord, where the German battleship Tirpitz was stationed during World War II, and hear about one of the first major battles of the war. Heading south, the Lyngen Alps come into view, 90 kilometers of mountains and glaciers beautiful year-round. Narvik is surrounded by peaks that also played a role in history. This afternoon you have the option to visit the Narvik War Museum and see exhibits about the 1940 Battles of Narvik and how the occupation affected Arctic life.

A ferry takes you across Tysfjord, whose arms stretch inland between steep granite walls. You'll continue south past Rago National Park, a vast transboundary wilderness shared with Sweden, known for glacial lakes and pine-covered ridges. After crossing the Arctic Circle near Storforshei (marked by a striking monument), you'll reach Mo i Rana on the Ranfjorden. Iron ore mining shaped the town historically, and now it serves as a gateway to Northern Norway's wild interior.

Trondheim

Geiranger
This is one of Norway's most scenic days. You'll drive through Norwegian Fjordland with soaring mountains, icy glaciers, and rivers cascading hundreds of meters into green valleys. Crossing through Dovrefjell National Park in the Dovre Mountains, you'll travel via lakes and snowcapped peaks to Lom, home to one of Norway's most beautiful stave churches. At Geirangerfjord you'll board a cruise beneath towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls. Your hotel sits overlooking the fjord landscape.

The trip wraps up with a dinner where you'll raise a glass with the friends you've made to celebrate your travels.
