- LILinda· June 26th, 2023This was the best tour I have ever taken thanks to our tour guide Oskar! He provided so much information about his country and culture and made it very personable to each of us! The excursions were excellent and the hotels were comfortable! He took us to many sites and told us the history behind them! I would recommend this tour especially if Oskar is your guide!Show moreTroll Expeditions commented on this reviewThank you for taking the time to provide a review. - NKNour· September 16th, 2022This was by far the best group tour we had, me and my mother in law had the best time with Hinrik and the whole team. The trip was always pleasant with a very nice soundtrack, we stayed in pleasant hotels and each day was nicer than the other, with a bunch of great activities and adventures. My mother in law is 75 and she was always treated very nicely and with extreme help and patience, Hinrik (our amazing guide) was extremely caring and gentle all the time taking into consideration her needs and limitations. Thank you for this amazing experience! And thanks Hinrik for being THE GUY!! we will miss you!Show moreTroll Expeditions commented on this reviewHi Nour, We are so happy for your time to leave us a good review and we are glad you enjoyed our tour! - Don· September 14th, 2022A solid but well-paced tour. Guide/driver Jim was very capable with a very pleasing personality. My only suggestion is that it should start and finish at the airport. Booking accommodation and arranging transport is difficult and expensive for foreigners. We elderly folk had to get ourselves to a bus at 5.30 am to catch a 9.40 flight out.Show moreTroll Expeditions commented on this reviewH Don, We really appreciate your time to leave us a good review and we are glad you enjoyed our tour! Asked on March 15th, 2025i was just wondering if you had any availability left on the last week of may?
- Troll ExpeditionsOperator•Written March 2025
We still have availability for our 6-Day Winter Ring Road Tour departing on May 28th, 2025. Let me know if this works for you, or if you'd like more details about the itinerary.

Asked on January 26th, 2025Do you have any tour dates on or around 20th April 2025? How many people are in the small groups? We are wanting to see the Puffins. Is this something that can be done on the tour, or do you have any other suggestions on how we can see them?
- Troll ExpeditionsOperator•Written January 2025
Our tours are conducted in mini-buses, typically a 19-seat Benz Sprinter. To ensure a comfortable group experience, we usually have a maximum of 18 to 19 passengers on board. Puffins arrive in Iceland in May and leave in late August. They are usually on cliffs, so when we go for example on the black sand beach clients will be able to see them most likely.

Asked on September 14th, 2024What hotel(s) would you recommend so I can be there for the 8am departure?
- Troll ExpeditionsOperator•Written September 2024
If you need to book a hotel in Reykjavik for your first night before the tour starts, we recommend Storm Hotel, Fosshótel Reykjavik, Reykjavik Lights, Hilton Reykjavik Nordica, Grand Hotel Reykjavik, or Oddsson Hotel, as they have a direct pick-up at the entrance.

Asked on September 6th, 2024Can you explain the Luggage Storage, Waterproof Jacket and Pant Rentals are for?
- Troll ExpeditionsOperator•Written September 2024
Each person is allowed to bring one suitcase up to 24 inches. You can also bring a small backpack on the bus, and it should fit under the seat or in the upper compartment. Extra luggage must be stored in our office; there is a fee you must purchase in advance. For tours that last 4 days or less, it costs 1750isk. For longer trips (5/6/8 Days), it costs 3000isk for the total duration of the trip.

Traveler•Written September 2024Can you explain the Waterproof Jacket and Pant Rentals are for?
- Troll ExpeditionsOperator•Written September 2024
Iceland's weather is unpredictable and changes quickly. Renting waterproof clothing is recommended in case of sudden rain to keep you dry. But it is still up to you if you want to rent it or not.

Asked on July 21st, 2024What time of day does the tour begin on Aug 14 and end on the 19? Would we be traveling with other people? How vigorous is the walking - does it work for someone with a cane?
- Troll ExpeditionsOperator•Written July 2024
The pick up starts at 8:00am on August 14. You will head back to the capital of Reykjavik on August 19th, where you'll arrive at around 8 pm (depending on weather and road conditions). We run our tour with small groups only wherein the maximum participant is 18 people. This is not a private tour so you have other travellers with you. I think it will be fine for getting on and off the bus but we have glacier hiking included in the tour which you may not be able to do since it is about 1h hiking on the glacier with elevation and hiking on uneven terrain. We usually don't recommend people with cranes for safety reasons and they might not keep up with the pace of a regular group thus less good experience overall. We can accommodate a private group where the guide is for your own to adjust the pace of the walk.

Asked on June 12th, 2024Can you advise at what time day 1 starts on this adventure? Would he still be able to join when he is done with immigration and meet up with the group if they have already departed?
- Troll ExpeditionsOperator•Written June 2024
For one day tour and multiple day tour begins at 8am within Reykjavik city center. If the client missed the pick up in the morning, they can follow the group wherever they may be, but this is for their own expense like for taking a taxi.

Traveler•Written June 2024Could it be possible to provide him with a transfer to the accommodation or to the adventure?
- Troll ExpeditionsOperator•Written June 2024
We do not pick up from Keflavik Airport. For bus transfers, you can book here. If they missed the pick up of the 6 day tour, they would have to follow the group wherever they be at that time at their own expense.

Asked on January 10th, 2023Could you please confirm that this includes the ice caves, the blue lagoon and the whale watching on this tour? Lastly, do the rooms include private washrooms?
- Troll ExpeditionsOperator•Written January 2023
Unfortunately we don't hold seats, bookings are open online and clients are able to book at any time. The summer tour doesn't include the ice cave, you can book it as an extra activity when you go to check out, you will see Katla ice cave. The whale watching is already included in the price. We don't go to the Blue Lagoon, the spa option you can choose is Vok Bath. All Hotels have private bathrooms.
