Itinerary
- Day 1
Mollepata Valley to Soyroccocha
Your hotel pickup happens at 5:00 a.m., and from there you're heading into Mollepata Valley where the landscape changes dramatically as you gain altitude. You'll see fruit trees lower down, then snowy peaks come into view as you climb higher, with the vegetation shifting noticeably as you go. After breakfast in Mollepata and a break in Challacancha, the trek takes you to Soraypampa. From there you'll push toward Humantay Lake, which sits at 4,200m and is surrounded by high Andean peaks on all sides. Lunch happens back at Soraypampa, then you've got about 2 hours of hiking left to reach the camp at Soyroccocha. Evening brings tea and dinner, and you'll be sleeping under the stars.

- Day 2
Salkantay Pass to Cusco
Start this morning with a solid breakfast because you're tackling Salkantay Pass today, the highest point of the entire trek at 4,638m. This is the day's main challenge and also where the views really reward all that effort. Once you reach the summit, you get views of Salkantay Mountain itself, which dominates the landscape from up there. After spending time at the pass, you'll head back down to camp for lunch. From there, the hiking continues to Soraypampa where transport is waiting to take you back to Cusco and wrap up the trek.
