Itinerary
- Day 1
Lima
You'll arrive in Lima and head to your Miraflores hotel, which takes about 45 minutes from the airport. If your flight gets in early, there's time to walk around the neighborhood and check out the shops and restaurants nearby. It's a good chance to grab lunch or just get oriented before settling in.

- Day 2
Lima
At 2PM, a private guide meets you for a city tour of Lima. You'll see Plaza Mayor first, then spend time at the San Francisco Convent and Catacombs complex, which includes the cloisters, churches, and an old library with historic tombs. Keep in mind the catacombs have low ceilings and it's quite dark down there. After the tour wraps up, you'll head back to your hotel.

Lima to Cusco
After breakfast, you'll transfer to Lima's airport about 3.5 hours before your flight. From there, it's a one-hour flight east over the Andes to Cusco. Once you arrive, a transfer takes you to your hotel where you should rest and let your body adjust to the 3,300m elevation. In the afternoon, your guide takes you around Cusco visiting Plaza de Armas and the Temple of the Sun (Koricancha), plus the ancient Inca sites: Sacsayhuaman, Q'enqo, Pucapucara, and Tambomachay, which have old baths, canals, and waterfalls.

Sacred Valley - Aguas Calientes
You'll travel northeast from Cusco to Pisac after breakfast, stopping at scenic overlooks along the way. The ruins sit high above town and give great views of the valley. Afterward, there's an indigenous craft market to browse. Then you continue west through the Sacred Valley to Urubamba where lunch is an Andean buffet at a good local restaurant. Next comes Ollantaytambo, an Inca fortress with its original layout of narrow streets and water canals still visible. In the late afternoon, you'll board a train to Aguas Calientes (90 minutes) and walk to your hotel.

Machu Picchu - Cusco
Leave your overnight bags at the hotel and take a 20-minute bus to Machu Picchu's entrance. With your guide, you'll explore the three main structures: Intihuatana, Temple of the Sun, and Room of the Three Windows over two hours. After that, you have plenty of time to hike around and explore on your own. Sunrise is when the site really shows itself as mist clears from the mountain ruins. Once you're done, bus back down to Aguas Calientes to pick up your bags, then take the train back to Cusco (3.5 hours).

After breakfast and checking out, make sure you didn't leave anything behind at the hotel. Then it's a quick 15-minute transfer to Cusco airport for your one-hour flight back to Lima and whatever comes next for you.
