Itinerary
- Day 1
Imlil to Tizi Oussem
Your trek begins in Imlil, where you'll start hiking up through Tizi Mzik Pass and take in the panoramic views across the mountains. The trail leads you to Tamsoulte Waterfall, which is the highest waterfall in the Atlas range. After spending time there, you'll descend toward the remote Berber village of Tizi Oussem. Once you arrive, there's an optional traditional hammam experience available if you want to relax your muscles after the day's hiking. Later you'll settle into your guesthouse for the night.

Tizi Oussem to Matat or Imlil
This day takes you up to Tizi Oudid Pass, where you'll see across the Azzaden Valley and pass through several Berber villages like Aït Aïssa and Matat. You have some choice on this day depending on how you're feeling. Either stay overnight in Matat if you'd prefer a slower pace, or make the return journey back to Imlil by evening. The pace and stopping points are flexible based on what works for you.

Matat to Imlil
If you stayed in Matat, you'll have a gentle walk back through the juniper and pine forests. Along the route you can stop for tea in local homes, or take a break for a picnic if that appeals to you more. By afternoon you'll arrive back in Imlil, which completes your time trekking through the Atlas Mountains.
