- Barbara· November 26th, 2023Tour was about a 3.5 but rounding up. A few issues being 1/ the itinerary on website, the one that was sent to me before I left, the one I received on arrival and then what actually happened were all different. I did get to see what was promised but it was a bit confusing at times. Also, had I known I would have so much free time on the return to Cairo, I would have booked an excursion rather than sit in the hotel most of the day. And, had i known there was only going to be two of us on the tour and he was going to be leaving a few days before me, I might have booked some extra excursions. The hotel in Cairo was actually in Giza and kind of in the middle of nowhere. Would have preferred to stay more central. And the wifi only being available in the lobby at both hotels (and not at all on the cruise) made things a bit difficult. The guides were ok with the exception of the guide in Luxor (Mahmoud) who was EXCELLENT! Who better to take you through the Valley of the kings than a cultural anthropologist. The tipping situation is a bit out of control. Had I known the extent of the requests, I would have brought more cash. Overall, glad I went. I got to see what I wanted to see. Just wish the communication had been a bit better.Show more
