Traveler•Written August 2025I read that to enter Egypt that we'll need a visa which is payable in cash upon arrival. Would that be in Egyptian pounds or U.S. currency? I plan on using their currency. How much would you recommend? Do the museums and other attractions entrance fees take their own currency? Preference? Also, will there be enough time for the visit to the Museum in Cairo? Or do I need another day?

You can get the visa upon arrival as long as you hold the US passport and it might cost you 30 - 35 USD. The entrance fees are approximately between $125 and $165 USD per person and will get you into all of the sites you visit. You can pay in USD, Egyptian pounds or by credit card. The package currently includes a visit to the old Egyptian museum until the GEM opining on the last quarter of the year.

Regarding Alexandria tour, Alexandria Tour: 125 USD per person and it needs an extra night to do, the tour starts at 07:00 and you will return to Cairo approximately at 18:30. The tour includes Lunch + Entrance fees + Tour guide + Transfer. During the tour you will visit: Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa + Alexandria Library from outside + Citadel of Qaitbay. We can arrange it on the last day of the tour but you should book a late departure flight or to book an extra night with us.
