- Day 1
Tangier to Asilah
Your agent meets you at Tangier port and takes you through the whitewashed medina to see Dar el Makhzen palace museum and the American Legation Museum. From there, head to the Hercules Caves where you'll find that distinctive African continent-shaped opening and views across the Strait of Gibraltar. The day continues to Asilah, a 15th-century coastal town with Portuguese ramparts and colonial gates covered in colorful artwork. You'll have time to wander around before settling in for the night.

Tangier to Chefchaouen
After leaving Tangier, you'll drive through the Rif Mountains and arrive in Chefchaouen, the blue-washed town that photographs beautifully from every angle. Spend time walking through the old medina's distinctive streets, then check out the red-walled Kasbah fortress from the 15th century and the Ethnographic Museum. There's an octagonal minaret to see as well. Before your overnight stay, you'll have free time to wander the charming streets and hang out at Place Outa el Hammam.

Chefchaouen to Fes
You'll travel from Chefchaouen toward Fes with stops at two historical sites. First comes the excavated ancient city of Volubilis, which served as the capital of the Mauretania kingdom. Then it's on to Meknes where you can see its imperial heritage and the famous Bab Mansour gate with its distinctive arches and intricate mosaic tiling. By evening you'll arrive in Fes for your overnight stay.

Fes
With a local guide, you'll spend the day exploring Fes's historical landmarks. Visit Madrasa El Bouinania, built between 1351 and 1356 and considered a high point of Marinid architecture, then see the UNESCO-recognized El Quaraoiyin mosque and university, which has been operating continuously for longer than any other higher education institution in the world. After that you'll check out the South Tower, pottery village, and Nejjarine Square, plus pass by the royal residence. You'll have free time to walk around and discover more before another night in Fes.

Fes to Merzouga
This early departure heads toward the Merzouga desert through Ifran with its alpine architecture and past Cedar Forests where Barbary macaques live. You'll drive through Midelt and then via Errachida, passing through the spectacular Ziz Valley with its rocky passage before reaching Erfoud. By late afternoon, you'll ride a camel to catch the sunset and head to your desert camp. There you'll have dinner, listen to local music around the campfire, and sleep in a private tent under the stars.

Merzouga to Boumalne Dades
Wake early to catch the desert sunrise, grab breakfast, then travel through Errissani to Skoura town. Continue to Tinghir, a city known for its palm groves, and visit the Todgha Gorge with its series of limestone river canyons in the High Atlas Mountains. The scenery throughout the day provides plenty of views that inspire artists. Your day ends in Boumalne Dades where you'll explore the canyon landscape and stay for the night.

Boumalne Dades to Marrakech
Travel through the Valley of the Roses along the 'one thousand kasbahs' road and stop at the historic Amridil Kasbah from the 17th century, a living museum showing traditional kasbah life that actually appears on Morocco's 50 Dirham note. Continue to Ouarzazate to visit Atlas Studio and learn about Morocco's film industry. Then see Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site showing traditional Moroccan clay architecture from the 17th century. You'll cross the Tishka Pass at 2,260 meters altitude and arrive in Marrakech by early evening for drop-off at your accommodation.
