Tangier
Your agent picks you up from the Tangier port, and you'll start exploring the whitewashed medina right away. There's the Dar el Makhzen palace-turned-museum to check out, along with the American Legation Museum if you're interested in colonial history. The Hercules Caves are worth seeing for that distinctive African continent-shaped opening in the rock. Before the evening, you'll walk through the Kasbah Museum and its Andalusian garden. You'll settle in for the night in Tangier.

Tangier to Chefchaouen
You'll depart Tangier early and head through the Rif Mountains toward Chefchaouen. The old town here is notable for its blue-washed buildings, which creates that particular atmosphere you'll notice right away. The red-walled Kasbah fortress dates back to the 15th century and gives good views of the surrounding area. The Ethnographic Museum provides context for local culture. You'll have some free time to wander around Place Outa el Hammam square and see the octagonal minaret. After that, you're settling in for the night in town.

Chefchaouen to Fes
This day involves traveling through historically significant areas. You'll stop at Volubilis first, an excavated ancient city that served as the capital of the Mauretania kingdom. Next comes Meknes, where you'll see the impressive Bab Mansour gate with its famous arches and mosaic tiling. The gate reflects the city's imperial background quite clearly. From there, you continue on to Fes for the night.

Fes
Fes's old medina has several key sites to cover. The Madrasa El Bouinania stands out as an important example of Marinid architecture from around 1351-1356. The El Quaraoiyin mosque and university carry significant historical weight as the oldest continuously operating higher educational institution recognized by UNESCO and Guinness World Records. You'll also see the South tower, pottery village, Nejjarine square, and pass by the king's residence. There's free time built in to explore on your own before you stay overnight.

Fes to Merzouga
An early start gets you heading toward Merzouga desert through Ifran, which has that alpine-style architecture and nearby ski slopes. You'll pass through cedar forests where Barbary macaques live, then continue through Midelt, Errachida, and the Ziz Valley's rocky passage. Erfoud comes next before you reach the desert itself. At sunset, you'll do camel riding to reach your private tent at the desert camp. Dinner, campfire entertainment, and local music round out the evening before you sleep under the stars.

Merzouga to Boumalne Dades
Wake early to watch the sunrise colors light up the desert before breakfast. Then you'll travel to Boumalne Dades through Errissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. The charming city of Tinghir is known for its palm grove. After that, you'll explore the limestone river canyons in the High Atlas Mountains, particularly the Todgha Gorge which stands out for its scale and rock formations. You'll spend time discovering more canyons around Boumalne Dades before settling in for the night.

Boumalne Dades to Marrakech
You'll travel through the Valley of the Roses along the One Thousand Kasbahs Road heading toward Marrakech. Atlas Studio is your first stop, where you'll discover how Moroccan films get made and uncover behind-the-scenes stories. The 17th-century kasbah at Ait Ben Haddou follows next, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its earthen clay architecture and its history as a stop on former caravan routes. From there, you drive over the Tishka pass at 2260m/7415 feet altitude, arriving in Marrakech by early evening for drop-off at your accommodation.
