Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Mexico City
You'll arrive at Benito Juarez International Airport where a driver meets you for the transfer to your hotel. This is just travel and settling in, no organized activities or guide today. Get comfortable at your hotel and rest up for the days ahead.
- Day 2
Mexico City
After breakfast, you'll spend the day touring Mexico City's main attractions. The Historic Center has the National Palace with Diego Rivera's murals and the Zocalo, plus you'll see the Templo Mayor and Metropolitan Cathedral. In the afternoon, head to Chapultepec Park and then over to Zona Rosa where there are plenty of restaurants and shops to wander through.

Mexico City to Querétaro to San Miguel de Allende
Following breakfast, you'll head out toward Querétaro to explore its colonial downtown with its historic mansions and aqueduct. From there, continue to San Miguel de Allende to visit the Parroquia de San Miguel de Archangel church and the Holy House Chapel. The rest of your afternoon is free to browse through handicraft stores, try restaurants, and check out the local bars.

San Miguel de Allende to Dolores Hidalgo to Guanajuato
After eating breakfast, you'll travel to Dolores Hidalgo, the birthplace of Mexican Independence and where composer José Alfredo Jimenez was from. Then move on to Guanajuato, a UNESCO site where you can see the University, Juarez Theater, and the Museum of the Mummies. You'll also walk through the famous kissing alley and visit Diego Rivera's house here.

Guanajuato to Zacatecas
Following breakfast, you'll head to Zacatecas, sitting at 8,100 feet and recognized as a UNESCO World Cultural and Historic Heritage Site. Walk through the colonial architecture and see the Cathedral with its Mexican baroque design. The real highlight is taking an aerial cable car down into the historic El Eden Mine for something you won't find in most places.

Zacatecas to Guadalajara
After breakfast, you'll travel to Guadalajara, the birthplace of tequila and mariachis. The day focuses on touring the cultural and historic areas including Plaza Tapatia, the Metropolitan Cathedral, Government Palace, and the Degollado Theater, which is quite impressive to see in person.

Guadalajara to Vicente Fernandez's Ranch to Pátzcuaro to Morelia
Starting with breakfast, you'll visit Vicente Fernandez's Ranch and the Tres Potrillos souvenir store to see the ranch and pay respects at his tomb. Later you'll head to Pátzcuaro, known as 'the door to heaven' in the local language, where you can visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Health and the House of the Eleven Patios. Before dinner, take a trip out to the Island of Janitzio, then come back for dinner downtown with traditional music.

Visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Health, the House of the Eleven Patios, and wander through the historic colonial district. Your afternoon is open to relax at bars and restaurants where they serve local dishes and traditional music plays at the downtown gathering spots.

You'll see the Cathedral, Government Palace, Clavijero Palace, and Plaza de Armas. Also visit the Guadalupita Temple with its Indian baroque decoration, check out the Aqueduct, and stop by the Sweet Market for traditional candies. From there, you'll return to Mexico City for the night.
