Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Agersioual
You'll be picked up in Marrakech and driven to Agersioual where your trekking team is waiting (guide, cook, and muleteers). The first day is all about getting used to the altitude with a gentler acclimatisation trek through Ouirgane National Park. You'll walk through terrain with copper green soil and juniper trees scattered around. After about 4 to 5 hours on foot, you'll reach the Berber village of Tizian and settle into a Gite for the night.

Ouirgane Valley to Azzaden Valley
After breakfast, you'll trek up and out of the valley heading toward Azzaden Valley. The path takes you past lush walnut groves and mountain streams, and you'll get better views of Toubkal and the surrounding peaks as you go. This is a longer day with roughly 7 hours of walking before you reach your overnight accommodation, either in a village Gite or camping setup.

Azzaden Valley to Toubkal Refuge
Today's a tougher climb out of Azzaden Valley toward the Toubkal Refuge. You'll pass by Ighouliden waterfalls and cross the Aguelzim Mountain pass at 3,560m/11,680 feet. Lunch happens up there with incredible views across the Atlas Mountain Range spread out below. By evening you're at the Toubkal Refuge (also called Niltner Hut) at 3,200m/10,500 feet, where you'll likely share a bunk room with other trekkers getting ready for Toubkal the next day.

Mount Toubkal Summit to Imlil
An early start gets you climbing Mount Toubkal (4,167m/13,671 feet), and if the clouds cooperate, the views over the Atlas Range and out toward the Sahara Desert are incredible. The descent is long and steep, retracing your route back past the refuge and down the well-worn path to Imlil. It's a full day with 8 to 9 hours of trekking total, 900m of climbing and nearly 2,500m of descent. You'll stay overnight at Dar Oussagou guesthouse in Imlil.

Imlil to Dades Gorge
Your driver picks you up from Imlil at 9:00am and you head over the Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass, driving through several Berber villages along the way. Once into the desert, you'll see riverside oases and barren hillsides with kasbahs dotting the landscape. You can choose to visit Ouarzazate Film Studios or go for a hike if you prefer. At Dades Gorge, it's your call whether to hike or relax at the hotel. The driving takes roughly 4 to 5 hours total, and you're staying overnight in Dades.

Dades Valley to Merzouga Desert Camp
After breakfast, you'll drive from Dades Valley to Todra Gorge, where massive walls of rock rise about 300 meters on both sides in a narrow valley. You'll hike through the palmery, which is a green oasis full of date palms. After lunch, the drive continues further into the desert to Merzouga for supplies. Then you'll pick up a camel at a kasbah and trek about 1.5 hours at sunset to reach a Berber camp. You'll have traditional Moroccan dinner and sleep under the stars or in tents. Total driving comes to around 3 to 4 hours.

Landmarks/POIs Todra Gorge Merzouga - Day 7
Merzouga Desert to Ait Benhaddou
You'll wake up to a desert sunrise, ride your camel back to the kasbah, and clean up before breakfast. After that, you drive to Ait Benhaddou, an old fortified city packed with kasbahs that's been used for filming Hollywood movies like The Mummy, Gladiator, Alexander, and Lawrence of Arabia. You'll walk around the buildings with your guide and explore. The drive takes about 5 to 6 hours, and you're staying near Ait Benhaddou overnight.

Landmarks/POIs Ait Benhaddou - Day 8
Ait Benhaddou to Marrakech
You'll travel along the Ounilla Valley to the Telouet Kasbah, a crumbling structure that used to be a key stop for traders passing through. After exploring the kasbah and having lunch, you head back over the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass to return to Marrakech. The drive takes roughly 2 to 3 hours, wrapping up your trip.
