Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Cairo
You'll arrive at the airport where an Ancient Egypt Tours representative meets you and takes you to your hotel. Check-in happens at 14:00, so if you get there earlier you can rest or book an extra night. Two options are available for the evening: a 2-hour Nile cruise with dinner and live entertainment, or the Sound and Light show depending on what's running that night.

- Day 2
Cairo to Aswan
After breakfast at the hotel, your guide leads you through the Giza Plateau. You'll see the three main pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, plus three smaller pyramids and the Great Sphinx. The Valley Temple is on the itinerary too. Around midday you'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant, and then head to the Egyptian Museum to look at the Tutankhamun collection and other artifacts. From there it's off to the train station for your overnight sleeper train to Aswan (dinner included).

- Day 3
Aswan
Breakfast comes early on the train before you arrive in Aswan. A representative picks you up and takes you to your hotel. The rest of your day is yours to spend however you'd like in the city.

- Day 4
Aswan Cruise
After breakfast, you board your 5-star Nile cruise and have lunch on board. The afternoon covers Aswan's major sites: the High Dam (built 1960-1970 for water control and power), the Unfinished Obelisk (connected to Queen Hatshepsut), the Temple of Philae on Isis Island dedicated to the goddesses, and the Granite Quarries. Dinner is served on the ship.

Edfu - Luxor
The cruise sails to Kom Ombo where you'll have afternoon tea and then visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, a double temple from 180 BC honoring both Sobek the crocodile god and Haroeris the falcon god. Then it's on to Edfu to see its famous Temple of Edfu, one of Egypt's largest. You sail to Luxor with afternoon tea and dinner on board, ending with a Galabya party.

Luxor
Breakfast is on board before you cross to the West Bank to explore the Valley of the Kings. You'll visit three tombs including Tutankhamun's tomb from 1922. Next comes the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut with its three terraces, and the Colossi of Memnon standing 3,400 years old. Back on the East Bank you'll see the massive Karnak Temple complex covering 100 hectares. Lunch and afternoon tea happen on the ship with some free time in the afternoon before dinner.

Luxor to Cairo
After breakfast on board, you leave the cruise. Transfer to Luxor train station for a first-class sleeper train back to Cairo, with dinner included on the train.

Cairo
You'll have breakfast on the train, then meet your representative in Cairo for a trip through Old Cairo. The route includes El Azhar, the first Islamic University, and Al Mouayyed Mosque plus Bab Zuweila, the best-kept of Cairo's seven old gates. After that you return to your hotel and have lunch at a local restaurant.

- Day 9
Cairo to Alexandria
After breakfast, your representative picks you up for a drive to Alexandria, about 210 kilometers away. You'll see Montazah Palace and Gardens (317 acres), pass by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina for photos, visit Pompey's Pillar from the 4th century, and explore the three-level Catacombs, the largest Roman cemetery in the area. Lunch happens at a local restaurant. The afternoon includes driving along the Cornish for views, crossing the Stanley Bridge, and visiting the Qaitbay Citadel built where the ancient lighthouse stood. The day ends at the new Bibliotheca Alexandrina before driving back to Cairo.

Departure from Cairo
Start with breakfast at your hotel. Your Ancient Egypt Tours representative will pick you up and drive you to the airport for your departure flight.
