- NSNatalie· February 28th, 2024This was a great budget tour. I initially chose this due to the budget price and itinerary. However, I upgraded my accommodation and was so glad that I did. Lake Nakuru Lodge and Jambo Mara were both great stays, with Lake Nakuru Lodge being my favourite. I met some wonderful people on this tour and managed to see many different animals: lions, elephants, zebras, topi, gazelles, buffalo and many more. If you are looking for a budget safari or a first time safari then this is a good option.Show moreSterling Travel commented on this reviewHello Natalie, We at STERLING TRAVEL LIMITED are happy to know that you enjoyed your safari with us. - DJDavid· August 5th, 2022First I want to say that Masai Mara is an amazing place and we enjoyed our tour. There where just too many annoying and/or dissapointing for us to be able to recommend this travel agency (Sterling Travel) Also if we could we would rate it 3.5 out of five but after thinking about it it is closer to 3 than 4. Things we liked: Our Driver (Clinton) was a nice and friendly guy, had good knowledge of the animals and we felt he was really good at finding interesting things to see. We saw the big 5, the migration over the river and more! The accomodation and the food was better then we expected considering it was the "budget" option. What we didn't like: The most important thing is that our tour differed from what was promised in our written description. On our last day in Masai Mara we didn't really have the promised morning game drive (we went through from one gate to the other with max. tempo stopping exactly one time although we explicitly said the evening before that a full morning game drive was promised to us) but instead felt pressured to do a visit in a maissai camp (extra 10$/person) and lake Naivasha boat ride (extra 25$/person) which none of those where in our tour description. Clinton said it was "optional" but the only other option was waiting for the others to finish. In Lake Nakuru we where stuck in mud for one hour wich is just bad luck and nobodys fault but since after lunch (12:30) nothing else was planned for the day (!) we don't know why we could not have stayed there longer (we stayed about 2.5h, one of them stuck in mud). Our driver had to pick up part of our group at the airport at 3am that morning and seemed really tired (understandably!) already when we started a whole days worth of driving what felt pretty dangerous to us and often times did not inform us about what is planned next, how long we would drive ect.. Sometimes we would wait in the bus for 30mins without knowing how long we would wait and why we where waiting. Our description said "drinking water included" and then we only got 1liter/person and day wich is a bit ridicolous considering you spend the day in an african savannah. (It was possible to buy more at the camp but still) 4 people did 7days with the group so they just continued with Clinton. We met them again later and they were also a bit unhappy. They said they where beeing promised two game drives at lake Nakuru in their tour description when we only had one. Also they spent a lot of time driving to pick up new people for parts of the tour or bringing them back wich meant that they had not enough time to do the hells gate properly (and they had no guide there). Also afterwards I got a lot of messages from the lady at the sterling travel office saying 3 times we should write reviews (both of us) so it would "boost sales", as she wrote. All in all I think these things would not be too hard to change and if they would be adjusted we would be able to recommend this tour as, like I said, the day in Masai Mara it self was really great. I hope the organizers take this as constructive criticism as it is intended.Show moreTrip date: July 2022

Asked on May 30th, 2024We will arrive at Nairobi airport on July 30 at 6AM. What would you recommend us to start the tour? July 30 or July 31 (we stay overnight at Nairobi)? What time does the tour end on Day 4? If we book an airplane ticket to depart Nairobi on D-4 for 9PM, would we make the flight? I saw a reviewer said she upgraded her accommodation for this tour. How much would an upgrade cost per person? Day 2 at Masai Mara no breakfast. Does the camp provide breakfast for cost? How much?
- Sterling TravelOperator•Written May 2024
If your flight touches down at 6a.m., by the time you do immigration clearance it will be past 7a.m. and you can still make it to join the group departing that day. You will arrive back in Nairobi between 4:00pm and 5:00p.m., so the 9:00p.m. flight will be okay. We can upgrade accommodation to mid-range in Masai Mara to Jambo Mara safari Lodge and in Nakuru to Lake Nakuru lodge, subject to availability, at 1624 USD per person. On day 2, breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.

Asked on July 30th, 2023What vaccines are required? Do we need visa (we are from USA)? What time is your tour ends (when are we being drop off at the airport) so we can catch the flight back home?
- Sterling TravelOperator•Written July 2023
Vaccines are not a must but are important especially the COVID-19. For the visa you will need visa for your entry to the country. After the safari you will be arriving back in Nairobi late afternoon maybe between 3-5 p.m so it best that you book a late flight maybe from 8p.m onwards.

Asked on June 29th, 2022Does the price 500 include entry tickets for the parks? if not how much the tickets cost? can you provide halal food? can you tell me what hotels/lodges we will stay in and send me pictures of them? we need two separate rooms please.
- Sterling TravelOperator•Written June 2022
The 500USD is Inclusive of your park fees in the parks, accommodation and transport to and from during your safari. Yes we do provide Halal food so don't worry about that you will be sorted out. The attached pictures are for our accommodation in Masai Mara. For Lake Nakuru accommodation you can check online for Hotel City Max.
