- Stelios· August 29th, 2023Well organized, a lot of opportunities for extra trips or activities, excellent tour leader helpful and enthusiastic with full knowledge of the subject. Average to good accomodation, but still excellent value for money. Well planned 3 days Salar de Uyuni trip. I would recommend to GA to add more days to the program of the tour for visiting other interesting places of this beautiful countryShow moreG Adventures commented on this reviewHi Στέλιος, Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback! - HPHannah· February 15th, 2020Our tour didn’t get off to a great start due to a mix up which meant we didn’t meet our CEO until the evening of Day 3. At our welcome meeting we found out that we’d be leaving La Paz early the next morning, despite our itinerary stating it would be an afternoon flight. This meant we didn’t have time to do any of the optional activities. Our local guide Kevin was great however, and it was helpful to have him at the airport. The flight from La Paz to Sucre was listed in our itinerary as 1 hour, but the journey took 3.5 hours (not including transfers either end). Aware that things can change from our original itinerary, but we wondered why a direct flight wasn’t booked. On both planes, we were sat in the emergency seats and then made to move as we didn’t speak good enough Spanish. Extra hassle that could have been avoided. We enjoyed our stay in Sucre and it was nice to have a few days there to explore. We might our next guide Mercedes at the airport. She was also good except didn’t have the best local tips as she wasn’t from Bolivia. At our next welcome meeting we were given more information about the optional extras for Sucre. These came across quite ‘sales pitchy’ and we felt as though the more expensive options were what we should choose. We also felt that our guide should have been able to give city tours rather than us always having to pay extra for them. Prior to our Bolivia Discovery tour, we did a tour in Peru with Intrepid. They provided us with an altitude sickness log so that they could keep track of our health throughout the days at high altitude. We went even higher in Bolivia so this would have been great to have. In Potosí, we decided not to join the mine tour, both from an ethical point of view and fear of claustrophobia. Instead we had planned to visit San Francisco Monastery. Despite chatting to Ilsen about it over breakfast, we weren’t aware that we had to be there at 11:30 exactly in order to go inside. We were turned away on arrival and we were quite upset as it was the main attraction in Potosí for us. This information was also not included in the G Adventures document provided. The next tour was at 14:30, but we had our transfer to Uyuni at this time Our trip through the salt flats was set to be the highlight of the tour, and it was, but there were a few issues that made it less enjoyable. We had two vehicles for 10 passengers which was very cramped - particularly for the person who had to sit next to the luggage in the back. If we’d had three 4x4s, there would have been much more breathing space. On both days of the drive, we were in the car roughly 10 hours. This was no fun at all, and we wished we had had more time at both of the homestays. There was also some miscommunication around driving times, the actual time wild sometimes be a lot longer than Ilsen told us which felt frustrating. I would personally have liked to mix up the passengers in the cars each day - it would have given us more time to bond with different members of the group and may have helped prevent some arguments after having been with the same people for too long. Ilsen was in the other car and this meant we didn’t always know what was going on as our driver didn’t speak English. In the morning of Day 2 of the drive, a member of our group realised she had left her expensive sunglasses at the homestay. Despite being just 5 minutes away, Ilsen did not allow her to go back and get them. Everyone in the group felt this was unfair and it definitely put a downer on that day. Ilsen was very helpful in organising a sunset tour of the salt flats before our night bus to La Paz. This wasn’t included in the tour but she made sure that it was possible because lots of people really wanted to do it.Show moreTrip date: January 2020

Traveler•Written March 2025Considering the fact that I an a seasoned GAdventure traveller, I get the 5 % discount on both these tour from the published price or not.
- G AdventuresOperator•Written March 2025
Yes that would be fine to do both trips back to back. The 5% discount would apply to full priced trips. If the trip is already discounted then the 5% would not apply. If you are booking through Tour Radar, you would need to book them under separate bookings.

Asked on October 31st, 2024Is there a single supplement charge for only one traveler? What is the best time to visit Bolivia?
- G AdventuresOperator•Written October 2024
We don't charge single supplements. We'll partner you up with a same-sex roommate to ensure you pay the same as everyone else. Sometimes it's just more convenient and comfortable to have your own room, which is why we offer single travellers a "My Own Room" option. Winter runs between May and October: this is the dry season, and in many ways the best time to visit. If you would like to see the dry salt flats this is the best time. If you would like to see the salt flats during the wet season when they are a watery mirror oasis then you should visit Bolivia December to March (January and February are the rainiest months).
