- CChristine· May 29th, 2025We went on the Kilimanjaro Machame trek and it was so memorable. Our trip was set up by Zayina, who helped us with all the logistics and details concerning our trek. Clinton the lead guide was very friendly, focused and a great leader. He led a team of 2 other guides and eighteen porters, a cook and waiter who made up the crew. The trek was mighty tough and we would not have made it to the summit without the support of our crew. Jacob was a great cook and made sure that we we all had enough delicious meals all through the trek. The tents and sleeping bags were of very good quality. All around it was a great experience with the crew that was there for us at all times.Show moreTrip date: May 2025
- KJKarla· May 18th, 2025As usual Zara Tanzania Adventures delivered an amazing trip. Our crew led by Yesse was the best. There were caring, knowledgeable and really committed towards getting us safely to the summit safely and made some beautiful memories as we did it. I have to commend our hosts for being well organized and perfectly prepared for us. The guides were had good energy, great advice and fun along the trail. Food was amazing and we owe our successful summit to the team from Zara Tanzania Adventures. We will be doing more trips with Zara in the future.Show moreTrip date: May 2025
- CCCaterina· May 12th, 2025This trek was well organized and the support from Yesse and his team was first class. Yesse is a fantastic guide who knew the mountain route well as he he’s been up the Machame route numerous times. He knew the best places to stop for rest and how hard to push each day. At the daily briefing over breakfast he would make sure that we were well prepared and covered for the day. The health checks were a must do to ensure that we were all fit to continue. On day 5 Yesse made the difficult decision of sending back one of the climbers in our group when he came down with ALS and he made it clear that our safety came first. The food and equipment provided was first class, which was really great. I am happy to recommend Zara Tanzania Adventures to anyone looking for a reliable and premier Kilimanjaro trekking operator.Show moreTrip date: May 2025
- JJillian· May 4th, 2025My friend and I just returned home from Tanzania where we had an epic trek up Kilimanjaro with guide Faustin of Zara Tanzania Adventures. Zara impressed us right from the start with their prompt and detailed responses to all my messages within a 2 or 3 hours. They helped us in selecting the route and preparation for the hike. We arrived to find a well prepared crew ready for us. The day prior to the trek they made sure we had all necessary gear for the trek. The actual trek was incredible! Very tough but rewarding at the same time. Our crew handled our needs and assisted us physically and mentally. They maintained conditions that enabled us to reach the summit. Food was excellent and plenty and the tents comfortable. We would have not made it to the summit without this crew. Brian and team, you are truly wonderful people. Thank you guys for everything.Show moreTrip date: April 2025
- TTeresa· May 4th, 2025Kilimanjaro was an unforgettable experience. Our crew of guides, porters and cook was well prepared and waiting for us with all the supplies, gear and everything else that was needed to for our trek. Senior guide Lema was the one charged with the responsibility of leading the expedition. I found him to be a a very talented and able leader who took care of all the details and did not miss even the smallest detail. We were very impressed by the high level of hospitality exhibited by the crew. The overall experience was amazing despite the tough course. The reward of reaching the summit, great views and nice people around is unforgettable.Show moreTrip date: April 2025
- VValentina· April 18th, 2025Our recent Kilimanjaro trekking adventure in Tanzania with Zara Tanzania Adventure was nothing short of amazing. Don't get me wrong, the course was super tough however the reward of getting to the summit after spending time trekking in the beautiful course with amazing views, fresh air accompanied by a charming crew who were fun made it all worth the pain and exertion. They helped us achieve our goal of successfully trekking to the summit safely under the supervision of expert mountain climbers who helped us to set conditions that made our trek comfortable. The tasty food, comfortable sleeping in the tents and so many little details that we could not have done on our own. I have total appreciation for guide Johnson and his crew for being wonderful throughout the trek.Show moreTrip date: April 2025
- LHLissette· April 15th, 2025Juma and Baraka were excellent guides. I am very impressed by how the Zara Tanzania Adventures team handled our booking right from the start to the actual trek. Everything was done so professionally and we felt in safe hands. Juma's knowledge for the mountain route and best climbing tactics played a huge part in our successful summit attempt. The trek took us through changing habitats, where each new day brought us to new sights. Support by our crew was key and highly appreciated. Their patience and genuine attention on our health kept us safe. The equipment provided proved to be of excellent quality. Food was abundant and delicious. I really cannot find any fault with the trek. It was perfectly arranged and executed!Show moreTrip date: April 2025

- YYasam· April 5th, 2025It has been a special and memorable trip with Zara Tanzania Adventures. We left all the preparations and logistics to the Zara team, particularly our Zayina our Trip Designer and she organized a seamless trip. From the moment we were picked up from the airport, to our hotel, the game drives and the lodges in parks everything was well arranged and just like it was described in the itinerary. We have never seen so many different animals in such a short time and all with a great guide narrating everything about them. You cannot go wrong with Zara Tanzania Adventures.Show moreTrip date: March 2025

Asked on February 24th, 2025I want to plan for a trip to climb Kilimanjaro in May. Please guide me on the steps that I need to take so as to have a wonderful experience. We would want to focus on Kilimanjaro this time and also maybe do a day of safari to Ngorongoro Crater or Arusha National Park. If possible we can also do a cultural visit to some of the local places or tribes. Please advice
- Zara Tours (Zara Tanzania Adventures)Operator•Written February 2025
For the best results, plan for 8 weeks of training before your Kilimanjaro Trek. This will allow you to build your endurance and strength. In addition to regular gym workouts, make sure you also go for walks in order to stimulate relevant muscle development. Try to do a one or two day hiking trials in your area.

Traveler•Written February 2025What do you think is a good add on after Kilimanjro? something that is sort of relaxing and not exerting a lot of energy?
- Zara Tours (Zara Tanzania Adventures)Operator•Written February 2025
Obviously there's an almost endless list of things one can do after climbing Kilimanjaro, both within Tanzania and just beyond its borders. But we don't think such a list is useful what you really want is to know the very best options for nearby travel. Tanzania safari or Day Trips. Zanzibar beach holiday.
