  We did the 15 day tour of Egypt which enabled us to see many of the highlights of the ancient world. The great thing about the tour was that we could personalise parts of it, and there were a couple of free days. Our guides were excellent, as was our driver. The tour was busy and we were pleased to get back to our hotel and put our feet up. We had the hotel upgrade, which was worth the extra cost. We did the tour in mid Oct-early Nov, and the weather hot but not unbearable. It was hotter in Luxor, and the dust was evident in the atmosphere for the best part of the last week, so not a bad idea to have a couple of masks. We are older travellers - around 70 - and our guides were very cognisant of keeping an eye on us on the uneven terrain. The Nile Cruise was pleasant, with one particularly early start (4am departure) for the drive to Abu Simbel. We were privileged to visit the new Grand Egyptian Museum on its first day of opening to the public, and saw the amazing displays. Definitely a not to be missed experience!

  The trip and all the activities were carried out in a way that satisfied us completely. All our drivers and guides were more than correct and helpful. During the extraordinary circumstances that arose at our home, the reaction from the company was more than fair and in the part that we did not plan, and because of which we partially changed the plan of our trip. In this sense, the staff and people of the company were the best part of the offer, given that we successfully solved the problems we encountered. The accommodation was in accordance with the agreement and was more than solid. Considering everything, we think that we did not make a mistake with our choice, and we hope that one day we will return and see the parts of Egypt that we did not get to see this time. We recommend.

  Having never booked a trip with a tour group, I was initially very apprehensive. I am pleased to say, my 15 days in Egypt with my nephew were amazing! From start to finish the team at Ancient Egypt Tours did a phenomenal job in transporting, planning, organizing, communicating every facet of the itinerary. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Reham my tour guide who was absolutely fantastic! Not only is she very knowledgeable all things Egypt, She went out of her way countless of times to ensure I was having an enjoyable trip and did whatever she could to answer any questions I might’ve had. I also would like to mention my two drivers, Mohamed and Mahmood who were absolutely wonderful, and ensured safe travel wherever my nephew and I went. Thank you for such a memorable trip!

  Part 2: ASWAN: Nile Cruise. Monte Carlo. This seemed an older boat. Not sure if it was warranted 5*. Rooms were good with a large window for great views of the Nile. Was disappointed the we did not sail for over a day. Being docked in Aswan was just like being in a hotel room. Food on board was just ok, and nothing special. All meals were buffet. Once we started to sail it was relaxing watching the Nile go by. Excursions to the temples.. Kom Ombo, Luxor and Karnak. These are mind blowing and a highlight of the sail. I have to give a huge mention to our guide Ahmed… he was outstanding. Went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. We all got sick and one night walking back from the market to the boat he hailed a taxi and said to my Hubby that he was too sick to walk and here is a taxi. While on the boat myself and friends all dressed up for the galabaya party. The rest of the boat was made up of Chinese and they did not dress up, but they appreciated that we did. It turned out to be a fun night. Our guide enjoyed us that much, that he wanted us to meet his wife and daughter. To sum it up… this is a great trip. Although a day less in Cairo would be better. Pay extra for a private tour. Be prepared for the sights of Cairo.. it’s not pretty. Be prepared for tipping everywhere! Be firm and polite, and the people selling things will leave you alone. Egypt is not all about the pyramids… the temples, the valley of the kings, Abu Simbel, Karnak temple are incredible! Hot air balloon is well worth it. If you want to have lunch with the view of the pyramids I can recommend Khufu’s. This tour covers all… you won’t regret it.

  We have just returned from 15 days Cairo, Alexandria, Abu Simbel, Nile Cruise and Luxor (12 destinations) We paid extra for 5* accommodation and also a private tour. We are six friends all in our 60’s and usually travel independently. For our first organised tour we did not want to be on a coach full of tourists, so paying the extra for a private tour was well worth it. CAIRO: Hotel Tolip Golden Plaza. Very nice hotel. Great location as it has a few restaurant and a shopping centre close by. Cairo traffic is a nightmare.. ! It is also a very dirty city. I think 5 days total in this city was too much. Don’t get me wrong, the sights are incredible. Really enjoyed Saqara,Our guide Dina was excellent, she was very knowledgable. Enjoyed her company very much. ALEXANDRIA: Hotel Sheraton Montazah. Very nice hotel situated at one end of the esplanade of Alexandria. Guide Nasreen was very nice and knowledgable. It was she who told us about the incident when someone had been shot. Up until then we knew nothing of any troubles. All the time we were there we felt very safe. We arranged a day trip to El Alamein which was very interesting. As my Husbands father had served in WW2 in that area. The war cemetery was very moving. The catacombs and the citadel were very interesting. ASWAN: Hotel Tolip, Aswan. Very nice hotel with rooms overlooking the Nile. Trip to Abu Simbel was one of the highlights… so worth the early morning departure. Philae Temple and Nubian village was also worth the visit.

  It was a great tour and I learned lots. Salwa from Ancient Egypt Tours was always available to answer my questions and available on WhatsApp. The lead tour guides/organisers Dina Farag from “Guide Me” in Cairo and Tarik Ali from “Travel Plan” in Luxor were simply amazing, very detailed oriented and always communicated through Whatapp. I also felt very safe with our assigned driver Napil who always drove carefully. Thank you for the unforgettable memories in Egypt!
