- FPFlorian· April 20th, 2025Automatic translation available in English. View in EnglishLong stages to the individual destinations but really worth it. The accommodation is great and Giang, our tour guide, was incredibly friendly, helpful and funny. He picked us up at our hotel early in the morning and took us to the bus. The first adventure was the bus ride itself, as the traffic in Vietnam is very different to that in Germany. The bus was modern, clean and air-conditioned, which was a blessing in temperatures of 36 degrees. There was plenty of water and the meals were all super tasty and so much that you could hardly manage to finish them. The tour to the waterfall on the second day was a bit lengthy as the water of the waterfall is dammed up on the Chinese side and no water is released before 11 am. We were there from 10:30 and had to wait an hour for the water. That wasn't so great in the scorching heat. All in all, however, it was a great tour, especially at the beginning of a trip to Vietnam, as you can discover the culture and some of the habits of the locals in a guided way and no longer feel quite as lost as before the tour.Show moreTrip date: April 2025
- AAnonymous· April 26th, 2023Long car rides but the homestays were worth it. Tour guide was attentive without being overbeing and extremely friendly. Was proactive and took car of everything without asking.Show moreTrip date: April 2023

Just note for long hours of drive on the roadShow moreMr Linh's Adventures commented on this reviewThank you very much for taking the time to give us a review. - Linda· October 1st, 2019Our main aim to take this tour was to see Ba Be Lake and the National park & we only had a short time to do it. Day 1 of the tour was a bit of a waste of time. Both the Gate of Monsters and the Dong Khe monument is not really worth the trip. The falls however were stunning and were worth the long travel times. In hindsight, I would have sourced another tour that spent more time at the lake and the national park as they were truly beautiful. Accommodation at the home stays were lovely in particular the home stay in the village on day 1. Due to the long travel times there wasn't a lot of opportunity for swimming or hiking.Show moreMr Linh's Adventures commented on this reviewDear Linda, thank you for leaving us a review on the tour and our apologies for the late reply. We are happy to see you still enjoyed your time with us despite the disappointment of not spending more time in Ba Be National Park. The Ban Gioc waterfall... Show moreTrip date: August 2019
- Dieter· September 8th, 2019Great to see a glimps of the 'off-the-beaten-track' North Vietnam. The incensive village was wonderfull. The Ban Gioc Falls somewhat dissapointing because you don't get to see the perspective you see in all the photo's. For that perspective, you need the Chinese side, which was unfortunately not accessible...Show moreMr Linh's Adventures commented on this reviewHi Dieter, thank you so much for your review! We are very glad you enjoyed the time spent in the villages, however sorry to read that the falls disappointed you in a way. - SMScott· July 12th, 2019We loved the tour, and our guide made it so incredible! My girlfriend and I (both from USA) were joined by three Germans and had a great time learning about the local Vietnamese people, food, and history. The home stays make this particularly interesting since we stayed with the locals and were able to better understand the culture and enjoy truly authentic food at every meal. Our only compliant is that it wasn’t clear just how much of this tour is spent driving. We probably spent a total of 6-8 hours per day, for 3 days, in a van driving. This is essentially a window tour, so be prepared for that! Again we loved it, but having a small group certainly helped since there was good conversation for entertainment in the multi-hour drives between historic or cultural stops. I don’t think I’d have enjoyed this tour so much if I were a solo traveler or if I got car-sick easily.Show moreMr Linh's Adventures commented on this reviewDear Scott, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review! We are happy to read you enjoyed your tour. You are right, we do spend some time in the car, and the roads can be difficult for carsick people. However, even though we try to stop... - Mr Linh's AdventuresOperator•Written July 2024
The 2 tours are hard to connect due to the travel route. These destinations are not close and are in different parts of North Vietnam. Travel time from Ba Be/Ban Gioc to Sapa will take more than 7 hours. Private transportation is the only option between Ban Gioc/Ba Be and Sapa.
