Itinerary
- Day 1
Paro to Thimphu
You'll land at Paro International Airport where your representative meets you. From there, it's about an hour's drive through mountain scenery to reach Thimphu, Bhutan's capital city. Once you check into your hotel at 2,280 meters (7,480 feet), the rest of the day is yours to settle in. You might wander through local markets to get a feel for the city, or simply relax at your accommodation as you adjust to the altitude.

- Day 2
Thimphu to Paro
This day focuses on seeing Thimphu's main cultural sites. You'll visit the enormous Buddha Dordenma statue, the National Memorial Chorten, Tashichho Dzong fortress, and the Folk Heritage Museum to understand Bhutanese traditions and history. After lunch and these morning activities, you drive back to Paro, which takes about an hour. You'll settle into your Paro hotel by evening and have time to rest before dinner.

Paro - Taktsang Monastery - Paro
After breakfast, you head out on a 4 km hike to Taktsang Monastery, commonly called Tiger's Nest. The trek climbs to 3,120 meters (10,235 feet) and takes roughly two hours going up. The monastery sits dramatically on a cliff overlooking Paro Valley, and it's one of Bhutan's most important spiritual sites. Once you make your way back down (another two hours or so), you have time to see Rinpung Dzong fortress and the National Museum in Paro to learn more about Bhutanese heritage and history.

Paro
You have a relaxed morning before heading to the airport. Your transfer to Paro International Airport takes about 20 minutes, giving you plenty of time to check in for your flight. As you drive, you'll have moments to reflect on everything you've experienced during your time in Bhutan before you depart.
