Day 1
Hanoi to Ban Gioc Waterfall
Your hotel pickup happens early in Hanoi's Old Quarter, and from there you're heading north to Ban Gioc Waterfall, which straddles the border between Vietnam and China. After grabbing lunch at a local restaurant, you'll have time to explore the waterfall area and can opt for a boat ride if you're interested. The afternoon includes a stop at Nguom Ngao Cave to see the stalactites, then you'll check into your hotel near the waterfall in Cao Bang province for dinner and the night.

Ban Gioc Area to Angel's Eye Mountain Camping
After breakfast and checking out, you'll visit Ban Gioc Pagoda for views overlooking the waterfall. Next comes Angel's Eye Mountain with its distinctive hole through the peak, and lunch is included during the drive there. Once you reach the campsite, the staff helps get your tent set up. The rest of the day is yours to paddleboard, swim in the stream, rest, or bike around for sunset photos. Dinner is a BBQ under the stars with corn wine and a campfire to meet other travelers before heading to your tent for the night.

Angel's Eye Mountain to Hanoi
The morning starts at 6:00 AM with breakfast featuring pate bread, instant noodles, and coffee. Spend your time paddleboarding, bathing in the stream, or just relaxing before a trek to the top of Angel's Eye Mountain. Pack everything up by 10:00 AM to end the camping. Lunch happens at a local restaurant in Quang Uyen District, then you board the bus for the return to Hanoi, arriving around 18:30.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Ban Gioc Waterfall Tour, and it was absolutely fantastic! The entire trip was well-organized, with seamless transportation and with a kind and knowledgeable guide who shared fascinating insights about the local culture and history. The highlight, of course, was the breathtaking Ban Gioc Waterfall itself. Standing in front of such a majestic natural wonder was truly awe-inspiring. The scenery surrounding the falls was equally stunning, making it a perfect spot for photography. The tour also included a visit to a local Village, a nearby cave and a short hike to a Pagoda, which enriched the experience even further. The breakfast, lunch and Dinner provided were delicious and offered a taste of local cuisine, adding to the overall enjoyment of the day. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore the beauty of northern Vietnam. Don't miss out on this incredible experience!

This trip is definitely for those who are looking for a different type of adventure and way of experiencing the local culture of Northern Vietnam. There were some pros and cons, like with anything, but our guide Chau made my experience 100% worth it! She was an amazing guide who went above and beyond to teach us about the culture, make sure we were comfortable, and give us fun facts along the way to help us learn about Vietnam. The worst part was the bus ride to/from Hanoi. The driver made us very car sick, so I suggest bringing motion sickness medication. But it’s a small price to pay for the wonderful experience this trip offered. I love getting to know the locals and learning about their family business of paper making and getting to try my hand at it! The sights, of course, were amazing as well. Our driver during the tour, Khoa, was wonderful! He was an excellent driver and photographer! Khoa and Chou took so many AMAZING pictures of me during this tour. Highly recommend!

Had a very nice tour with An. A friendly guide who speaks good English and comes from the Ban Gioc region. So he knows a lot about the region. Excellent tour - Ruth was an amazing local guide; very friendly, knowledgeable and a remarkable photographer! Highly recommend! One thing to note, re: the overnight bus, go in with an open mind (and an empty bladder). It's an interesting journey, to say the least! Make sure to double check with the driver/attendant on the drop off location as we had to change bus part-way.

An excellent trip to the less explored land in the northern east. Had two beutiful days exploring not only the breathtaking landscape and main sights like Angel Eye mountain, Ban Gioc waterfalls, but also making many stops to check the local way of living, seing the culture from up close. Incredibly beautiful trip. It was a long ride, but the bus was pretty and definitely worth it! Our guide, Dave, was super nice and could tell us a lot. We still had a bit of time on the first day and even went to a small village. At the waterfall we were even able to take a small boat to China. The hotel was okay too. Not dirty, but a few mosquitoes - mosquito net recommended. Overall everything was wonderful. Tour is really recommended to get to know the north of Vietnam. Many greetings from Austria and Italy.
