Reviews of Small Group tours to Vietnam
- Small-Group Cooking Class with Market Visit: Free Pick-up, Recipe Book, Unlimited Wine & Much More!
This is the best cooking class I have ever been to! Spectacular setting, Mango our chef is knowledgeable, warm, kind and hilarious- from shopping at the market to demonstrating the preparation of the dishes, she does everything with humour and fun, with insights into Vietnamese culture. The villa setting is stunning, almost like a tv set it’s so well-appointed. The food portions are very generous and the food itself is fresh and delicious with a true taste of Vietnam- we had a group of 5 which was the perfect size. The class was a great length to not be rushed and gave us time to enjoy food and make new friends at the same time. Lyon was fantastic to deal with- responsive, accomodating and really wanted to make sure we had a wonderful time. Would 100% recommend this class to anyone visiting Hanoi!
- Saigon 5D4N Small Group Tour: Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels - Mekong Delta
The journey met all my expectances, in nature as well as in cities, with historical and cultural appreciations, and friendly, documented guides. I highly recommend.
- Authenic Experiences in Hanoi & Sapa with Cooking Class, Market, Ethnic Group People, Trekking,...
The trip was so enjoying and amazing with a lot of experiences that we cannot join if we don't go to the areas. All the places we visited were truly unexplored with very few tourists. We love the landscape, the local food, ethnic cultures. Highly recommend this trip.
What our customers ask about Vietnam Small Group Tours
What is the ideal group size for small group tours in Vietnam?
The sweet spot for Vietnam small group tours ranges from 8-12 travelers per group. This size allows for easy navigation through narrow alleys of places like Ninh Binh's Trang An grottoes or the bustling streets of Hoi An. Wonderscape Travel maintains these numbers to ensure each guest gets individual attention. A TourRadar traveler noted: "A group of 5 people is perfect for activities like cooking classes and market visits allowing for personalized attention from guides."
What type of accommodation is typically used for small group tours in Vietnam?
These tours favor carefully chosen boutique properties and smaller hotels that larger groups pass by. In Hanoi's Old Quarter travelers often stay at the locally-run Tirant Hotel while Halong Bay features compact vessels like the Le Journey Cruise with just 12-16 cabins. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The Silkotel in Hoi An was a perfect small hotel with great service and local character that really enhanced our small group experience."
How does the cost of small group tours compare to larger group tours in Vietnam?
Small group experiences in Vietnam run between USD 80-180 daily reflecting the more focused service and select accommodations. A typical 12-day journey costs around USD 1049 covering stays at local properties like Phan Anh Hostel in Ho Chi Minh City along with hands-on experiences such as cooking workshops. A TourRadar traveler noted: "While slightly pricier the small group size meant we could stay at local homestays and get off-the-beaten-path experiences that large buses simply can't access."
What is the best starting point for a small group tour in Vietnam?
Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City serve as the main gateways with Hanoi proving especially suitable for newcomers to Vietnam. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Starting in Hanoi was perfect - our small group could easily explore the Old Quarter's narrow streets and food markets with our guide before heading to Halong Bay." From here groups often stay at places like Nexy Hostel while exploring Halong Bay and Ninh Binh before heading south.
What unique experiences are available on small group tours in Vietnam that aren't possible with larger groups?
Small groups can access experiences that remain out of reach for larger tours. These include cooking in family homes meeting villagers in remote Mekong Delta communities and exploring quieter corners of Halong Bay. At Cai Rang Floating Market groups can take local sampan boats right up to vendors while boutique stays like the Tirant Hotel put you in the heart of Hanoi's Old Quarter. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The small group size allowed us to stay in charming homestays and take narrow sampan boats through tiny Mekong Delta canals that big groups simply can't access."
How does transportation work with small group tours in Vietnam?
Transportation combines private minivans overnight trains and domestic flights for practical travel between destinations. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Our intimate group size meant we could use comfortable minivans between destinations like Hoi An and Hue stopping at local spots that big buses can't access." Stays at central locations like Hoi An Paradise Hotel reduce transfer times while the smaller group format allows for scenic detours along routes like the Hai Van Pass.
