Tangier
You'll arrive at Boukhalef Airport or pull into one of Tangier's ports where your guide meets you for the transfer to your hotel. The morning is yours to settle in and relax. Then in the afternoon you'll walk through Tangier's main highlights like the Kasbah, El Grand Soco, the old merchant quarter, and Msella to get a feel for the city.

Meknes - Volubilis - Moulay Idris - Fez
This is a day trip where you'll stop at historic sites on the way to Fez. First you'll check out Volubilis, the old Roman provincial capital with its ancient ruins. Then Moulay Idris, where Morocco's first Arab dynasty took hold. You'll see highlights in Meknes before heading to Fez for dinner and the night.

Fez
Fez is the ancient imperial capital and one complete medieval Islamic city. Your morning takes you through important sites like the Bouinania Medersa, Moulay Idris Mausoleum, Karaouiyine Mosque, Attarine Medersa, and Nejjarine Museum. After lunch at a traditional Moroccan restaurant, you'll spend the afternoon continuing to explore the Medina's winding streets.

Sefrou - Bhallil - Fez
You'll take an excursion out to Sefrou, an ancient city with 3,000 years of history as a Phoenician and Roman outpost. It holds real spiritual significance for Moroccan Jews. Then you'll hike through the Middle Atlas region, and head to Bhallil where people still live in Neolithic troglodyte dwellings carved into the rock. You're back in Fez for dinner and overnight.

Azrou - Midelt - Erfoud - Merzouga
You'll drive through the Middle Atlas mountains where evergreen pines and cedar trees cover the slopes. You reach Azrou, an important market center in the region. From there it's south past Midelt where the High Atlas peaks suddenly rise up dramatically. After lunch you'll cross through the red desert belt heading to Erfoud and then Merzouga. You'll stay overnight in a Tuareg camp in the Sahara, and you can either ride a camel or take a Land Rover to reach camp.

Rissani - Erfoud
You're up early to watch the sunrise paint the Merzouga dunes gold and red. After breakfast with the Touaregs you'll explore Rissani, the holy ancient city, traveling by Land Rover through the surrounding landscape. Then you head back to Erfoud for dinner and the night.

Tineghir - Todras Gorge - Dades Valley
You'll travel through dramatic gorges and valleys today. The Todras Gorge is one of the highest and narrowest in the region, sitting about 15 km from Tineghir. Then you move through the Dades valley where Persian roses bloom in spring and fill the air with fragrance. Thousands of Kasbahs stand like sand castles along the Dades River. You'll stay overnight in Tineghir.

Anti Atlas - Draa Valley - Zagora
You'll head to Zagora in the morning, passing through the Anti Atlas mountains and seeing the Draa valley's oases and Kasbahs. You stop in Agdez and other sun-baked mud hamlets surrounded by the world's largest continuous belt of oases. Overnight is in Zagora.

Tamegroute - Zagora
A full day exploring the natural gateway to Morocco's Saharan Desert. You'll drive through lowlands and mountain passes to reach Tamegroute where the famous Moorish Koranic Library sits. It houses rare books and documents going back to the 13th century, some written on gazelle hide. From there you head back to Zagora.
