- CCaroline· June 9th, 2025The tour was excellent. It was well-planned, had amazing highlights in its itinerary, and provided a good balance of planned activities and free time. Our tour guide, George, was excellent too. He was knowledgeable, helpful and attentive, and with his humour and easy-going manner he felt just as much as part of the group as the tour participants. And while the tour organiser can't control what kind of people participate in the tour, I still wanted to highlight how wonderful and funny my group was. I enjoyed their company massively and am grateful to have had such fantastic people around me to explore Japan.Show moreOne Life Adventures commented on this reviewThank you so much for your review Caroline! - Nora· June 8th, 2025I find it really hard to put down my thoughts about the trip into words because it truly was everything I could have ever wished for, and more. To have a guide so informed and knowledgable about the destinations and the unspoken do's and don’t's is a real luxury. I really appreciated that our guide was intent on making everyone feel included, even a nervous first “big trip alone” traveler like myself. A lot of things I would have otherwise had to worry about was taken care of, leaving me with more time and energy to explore. I would definitely recommend this to everyone who want to make the most out of their one week Japan trip. - SSsarah· June 8th, 2025Had the most amazing time in Japan! Our guide, George, was incredible—so knowledgeable, kind, and made the whole experience seamless. Highlights included visiting the breathtaking Mt. Fuji, dressing up in beautiful kimonos, and seeing the adorable monkeys at Monkey Mountain. - SHSarah· June 8th, 2025The 9-Day Essential Tour of Japan with One Life Adventures was a great way to experience the country for the first time. The itinerary covered a lot — from Tokyo to Hakone, Kyoto and Osaka — with a good balance of sightseeing, cultural experiences, and free time. Our guide, George, really helped make the trip enjoyable. He was organized, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to, and he always made sure everyone was comfortable and informed. His local tips and recommendations added a lot to the experience. Overall, it was a well-run tour with a great group of people. If you're looking for a fun and smooth introduction to Japan, this is the perfect choice — and George was a big part of what made it memorable. Thank you GeorgeShow moreTrip date: June 2025

A perfect mix of educational group activities and time to explore the cities on our own. Our group leader George not only guided us safely and professionally through the tour, he also created a relaxed, fun atmosphere. - LDLelo· June 8th, 2025We just wrapped up an amazing 9 day tour of Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, and a huge thank you goes to our tour guide George. He was organized, knowledgeable, and super easy to get along with. George made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable, from navigating busy train stations to explaining the history behind the sights. He always had great recommendations, and was really attentive to everyone in the group. You could tell he genuinely cared about making sure we had a good time and got the most out of the trip. We really appreciated his local tips, good humor, and patience throughout. If you're thinking about doing a tour in Japan, I’d definitely recommend going with someone like George!Show moreTrip date: June 2025
- SMSean· June 8th, 2025George was an outstanding guide throughout our nine day tour of Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. His knowledge, organisation and genuine passion for Japan made the trip smooth, enriching and memorable. He was always helpful, flexible and went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time. I would highly recommend George to anyone planning a tour in Japan. - Sophie· May 30th, 2025The overall experience was great and met some wonderful people which made the trip so much more enjoyable. Jordan was a good tour guide and fit well into the group. I don’t think it is clear in the itinerary just how much free time there is on the tour. Whilst some people may enjoy this, if I had known I would have done a lot more research into places / areas and felt I was missing out on some of the locations. I think some of the days in Kyoto could have been condensed down to 2 days to spend more time elsewhere. Those on the 9 day tour only get an afternoon / evening in Osaka and the tour could be better organised to spend more time there if other days had been condensed. The accommodation in Tokyo was poor in comparison to the other hostels we stayed in. If there were more social events in the first day or two where the whole group could spend time together I think it would really help the group dynamic as it felt like these activities only happened on the last few days.Show moreOne Life Adventures commented on this reviewThank you for your feedback from your time in Japan with us, Sophie! Asked on May 4th, 2025Tokyo has multiple airports. what airport should I drop down to in Tokyo? And how to move to the meet-up point?
- One Life AdventuresOperator•Written May 2025
You can fly into both Narita International Airport (NRT) and Haneda International Airport (HND) which are both based in Tokyo. 30 days prior to your tour commencing you will receive a welcome pack with detailed instructions on how to get from both airports to our first accommodation/meeting point using Japans public transport system. The journey from both airports will take around 1 hour, and tickets can be purchased from English speaking kiosks.

Asked on April 10th, 2025Does this mean a room full of bunk beds? I have a CPAP machine - would I be able to get a bed near an outlet? Would my American CPAP machine plug into a Japanese outlet without issue?
- One Life AdventuresOperator•Written April 2025
We will be using multi share dormitory rooms throughout the whole of the tour, and you will only be sharing with fellow members of your One Life Adventure. So after reaching out to our ground team over in Japan, I have been informed that we cannot guarantee that there will be outlets for power by each of your bed. We do have an award winning Japan Classic tour, this tour uses upgraded accommodation and can accommodate for your CPAP machine. Please do note that you will need a letter from your doctor to get the CPAP machine through customs.

Asked on April 10th, 2025I'm currently 15 years old (turning 16 at the time of the tour), and I'll be traveling with my 19-year-old sister. I'm interested in the 9-day tour, which is listed as being suitable for ages 18–29, and I had a couple of questions. Firstly, could you please clarify why the age range is set that way? Is it primarily due to social activities such as drinking, or are there other reasons behind it? Secondly, is this an age restriction, or more of a general guideline?
- One Life AdventuresOperator•Written April 2025
We do have age limits to ensure the best experience for all our participants. Guests must be 18 years or older to join. While we believe that all adventurers are young at heart, our tours are tailored for those aged 18-39, which is why we have an upper age limit of 45 years.
