Reviews of 3 day Tours from Athens
- Greece Historical Tour with Nauplion - 4 Days
This was an excellent tour, bus, drivers and guide (Andronicus) were great, the guide was the best we've had. We went the 'first class' accomodation and it was. The way the tour was organised was really good, plenty of time at attractions in the morning and travel in afternoon was really appreciated in the summer heat. would recommend this tour (and the 5 day inc Meteora) for anyone who wants a good appreciation of Greece.
- Discovery of Greece - 4 Days
I loved the trip but will share a incident after the trip. “DO NOT BUY ANYTHING” you don’t want taken at the airport. We were told that Greek honey is worth the amount of gold. Well I bought a very small jar of Greek honey and a small jar of Olympic stadium olive oil from the shops we went to and sure enough the Greek border agents stole the Honey and Olive oil saying they aren’t allowed on the plane, then not more than 50 feet past the checkpoint is the same honey and olive oil in larger jars being sold for 50% more than you payed for it. Soooooooo don’t spend your money at the shops at these really nice places. Until the shop owners start telling you not to waste your hard earned money they should not get any of it from you till the ordinance(not law) is lifted. The shop owners need to petition the border patrol to be accountable for stealing Honey an olive oil. I was sooooooo looking forward to put a smile on my mommas face with the small jars and now all I can do is tell her how nice her gifts were. Sorry shop owners, but you need to tell your tourist customers to NOT!!! Spend money on nice gifts that will get stolen at the border. I guess they wanted honey and oil I’ve oil for their family.
- 3 Days Tour From Athens To Meteora And Delphi
We have just finished the Meteora part of our trip. We would like to commend the travel company you selected for us, VisitMeteora. They were exemplary. All pickups were punctual, vehicles were safe and immaculate, drivers careful and courteous and the guide Vasilis was thoughtful, and provided relevant information in an interesting manner. In addition, on arrival in Meteora we needed to make emergency international calls and VisitMeteora staff, Georgia, and the manager were supportive and allowed us to use their office phones free of charge (our phones were unable to make international calls). We have traveled extensively and we believe this company is everything and more that a traveler could want.
What our customers ask about Best 3 day Tours from Athens
What's the best time of year for a 3-day tour from Athens?
Plan your trip between April and October for the most enjoyable weather. Spring months (April-May) are perfect, with temperatures around 68-75°F (20-24°C) and flowers in bloom everywhere. If you want to avoid peak crowds but still enjoy warm weather, come in September or October. Summer (June-August) gets pretty hot, often reaching 85-95°F (29-35°C), especially when you're walking around places like Delphi. One of our TourRadar travelers noted, "visiting in December meant fewer crowds at major sites," though keep in mind that some island services slow down during winter months.
What type of accommodation can I expect on a 3-day tour from Athens?
You'll stay in comfortable 3 or 4-star hotels throughout your trip. In Athens, this might mean spending nights at the central Hotel Jason Inn if you're booked for 3-star accommodation, or the modern Hotel Fresh if you've chosen a 4-star option. When visiting Meteora, you'll likely stay at the Hotel Meteoritis or Amalia Kalambaka. As one happy TourRadar traveler put it, "The hotels were excellent and our driver very friendly!"
What are the most popular destinations covered in 3-day tours from Athens?
Your tour will take you to some of Greece's most incredible places. You'll explore the ancient sanctuary of Delphi and see the Temple of Apollo, visit the remarkable monasteries built on top of Meteora's towering rocks, and you might hop over to beautiful islands like Mykonos and Santorini. Many travelers love these routes because they mix ancient mainland sites with island experiences. You'll stay at convenient spots like the Hotel Meteoritis in Kalambaka, which puts you right near the main attractions.
What is included in the meals during 3-day tours from Athens?
Your tour includes breakfast each morning at your hotel, plus one or two dinners along the way. When you're staying in places like Kalambaka near Meteora or Nafplio in the Peloponnese, you'll usually have dinner at your hotel. During free time, you can try local Greek restaurants - our TourRadar travelers especially like the ones in Delphi and Olympia. Some tours include special lunch stops in pretty locations, like the seaside town of Galatas or the mountain village of Kastraki.
What are the key historical sites visited on 3-day tours from Athens?
You'll visit several UNESCO World Heritage sites on your trip. At Delphi, you can explore the ancient Oracle and Temple of Apollo. In Meteora, you'll see monasteries built on top of natural sandstone pillars. If you're heading to Olympia, you'll walk through the original Olympic stadium and ancient temples. The Peloponnese region offers the incredible Epidaurus theater, known for its perfect acoustics, and Mycenae with its famous Lion Gate and massive stone walls. Many TourRadar travelers say hiking up to Delphi's ancient stadium at 2,000 feet (610 meters) is worth it for the amazing views over the Gulf of Corinth.
How do I get between destinations on a 3-day tour from Athens?
You'll travel in comfortable, air-conditioned vehicles on mainland tours, and take high-speed ferries when visiting islands. The ferry ride from Athens to Mykonos takes about 2.5 hours, which is the same time you'll spend driving from Athens to Delphi. TourRadar travelers often mention that the transfers run smoothly and the drivers are professional, making travel between sites easy and comfortable.
