Itinerary
- Day 1
Athens to Delphi to Kalambaka
You'll leave Athens in the morning, heading north through Thebes and Levadia toward the mountain region. The route takes you to Arachova, a small village sitting on Mount Parnassus' slopes, and then down to Delphi where you'll spend time at the Archaeological Site. Walking the sacred way, you'll see the Athenian Treasury and the Temple of Apollo, where the oracle once delivered prophecies, plus walk through the theatre carved into the hillside. After that, you'll continue east across the Thessalian plain through Lamia and Trikala toward Kalambaka. This town sits right beneath the Meteora Monasteries, those massive grey rock formations that rise dramatically from the landscape. You'll have dinner and stay overnight there.
