Our family had the absolute pleasure of travelling through Europe with Rachelle Brown as our guide, and she was exceptional from start to finish. She was approachable, communicative, patient and clear in the way she explains things. From day one, she set expectations beautifully so that everyone in the group stayed on track, on time and felt comfortable. Rachelle was like a swan - calm, relaxed and composed on the surface, while working tirelessly behind the scenes. She was constantly adjusting reservations, problem-solving, and thinking three steps ahead to ensure every part of our experience was smooth and stress-free. We always felt completely looked after. Our group was quite diverse, and Rachelle managed everyone’s needs with ease. She helped us get to know one another in a friendly and natural way, which made the whole journey even more enjoyable. And then there was her knowledge! Rachelle shared incredible facts, stories and historical context at every destination. We learned so much, and there is absolutely no way we could have seen, done, or understood as much as we did if we were travelling on our own. The pace of the tour was fast but manageable - even for us as a family of four with two kids aged 10 and 12. Thanks to Rachelle’s organisation and support, we covered an impressive number of towns, cities, counties and iconic sights, travelling huge distances without ever feeling overwhelmed. We are so grateful for her professionalism, warmth and expertise. Rachelle truly made our European adventure unforgettable. Highly recommended by the Burns family from Sydney ??

I don’t recommend Expat Explore tour companiy and I’ll not going to travel with them ever again! Tiago, the guide had no idea about all places that we were visited and did not give us any information, but he was asking few times about the tips for him. So if you just want a bus ride, that’s all that you have.

    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten October 2025

You can find all available payment options on the 'Book Now' page. If your departure date is more than 70 days away, you'll have two options: Pay a deposit now and the remaining balance will be automatically charged 70 days before departure, or Pay the full amount upfront if you prefer to have everything settled in advance. If your departure is within 70 days, the full payment will be charged immediately at the time of booking. Do you already have a confirmed booking that you would like to pay off in full, or are you still in the process of making a new booking?

    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten October 2025

Please note that Expat Explore is not a visa agency, and we're unable to process or apply for visas on behalf of travellers. The visa application is each traveller's own responsibility. However, we can provide the necessary supporting documents (such as your booking confirmation and travel itinerary) to assist with your Schengen visa application. For the Schengen visa, you should apply through the embassy or consulate of the country where you will spend the most nights during your tour. If the number of nights is the same in multiple countries, then apply through the embassy of the country where you will first enter the Schengen area.

Regarding your children, since they are 15 and 12 years old, they are welcome on tour. Please note that our rooming is based on a twin-share arrangement, which means a minor must be roomed with an accompanying adult. Travel insurance is a must-have for all Expat Explore tours. We recommend choosing a policy that covers trip cancellation and interruption, medical assistance and repatriation, and lost or damaged baggage.

    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten September 2025

The starting and ending point of the tour will be at a hotel in Rome, which is currently listed as Excel Roma Montemario. The closest airport is Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO), although Rome Ciampino Airport (CIA) is also an option depending on your flights. Please note that the hotel allocation is still subject to change, and the final details will be shared in your Tour Leader Announcement closer to departure. I'm happy to confirm that the October 5th departure is still available, and you can secure a private room by selecting the single supplement upgrade. Availability for private rooms is limited, and this departure is selling quickly, so we recommend proceeding soon via our website to either place a hold or finalize your booking.

    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten August 2025

We highly recommend obtaining comprehensive travel insurance, ensuring you won't need to worry about emergencies that can happen anytime, anywhere, before or during your travels. Insurance can cover the cost of your adventure(s) in the case of an unforeseen cancellation. It ensures that you do not have to worry about any unplanned changes to your travel plans, such as having to rush home to an ill family member or having an adventure changed or cancelled because of a natural disaster. It can even help with smaller things - like lost luggage or stolen cameras. When selecting a travel insurance policy we recommend a minimum coverage of USD 200,000 for repatriation and emergency rescue. We strongly recommend that the policy also covers personal liability, medical, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects.

    Asked on August 7th, 2025

Can you please provide the visa requirements for these countries?

    Visa
    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten August 2025

Visa requirements will depend on the nationality or passport you hold, so the best next step is to check with a reputable visa or travel agency for the most up-to-date information. For your reference, the European Highlights tour visits: France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium — and all of these are part of the Schengen Area. This means that for most nationalities requiring a visa, you'll likely need a Schengen visa to cover your entire trip. Please note: While we aim to provide accurate guidance, we are not a registered visa agency. We strongly recommend confirming this information with a reputable travel or visa agent, as entry requirements can change unexpectedly.

Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
    • Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
