What people love about Milan Tours
- Discover Italy end Milan
Very informative and details about the excursions.Excellent tour guides!
- 4 Days Northern Lakes Tour - from Milan
My wife and I really enjoyed our tour to the four northern lakes. Elvio (guide) and Claudio (driver) were absolutely fantastic. The tour group had a total of 11 which made for a very comfortable drive in the 20 person transit van. We paid extra for the upgraded rooms which were worth the extra cost in Como and Verona. The" upgraded room" in Bergamo at the Best Western was disappointing at best (no view and a horrible mattress), particularly after we had to move late in the evening when the A/C in the room stopped working. Weather was ok for the most part, lots of clouds which keep the temperatures in check, and some rain (mostly overnight). Some suggestions for improvement: 1. Need more time to tour the old part of Bergamo, 2. Use "express" ferry from Como to Bellagio, too long and too many stops on the "local" ferry.
- Milan City Break
The accommodation was clean, very comfortable, and well located. Staff were helpful and everything matched the description. A good choice for a pleasant stay in Milano!
What our customers ask about Milan Tours & Trips
What are the best neighborhoods to stay in Milan for first-time visitors?
The area surrounding the Duomo in Milan's historic center serves as an ideal base for exploring the city's main attractions. Visitors seeking convenient transportation links often choose accommodations near Central Station like the Starhotels Ritz. The Porto Venezia neighborhood featuring UNAHOTELS Galles Milano balances accessibility with comfort. For evening entertainment the Navigli canal district buzzes with restaurants and bars while the Brera quarter appeals to art enthusiasts with its galleries and boutique hotels. As one TourRadar traveler noted "The location of our hotel near the Duomo made it incredibly easy to explore Milan's main attractions on foot."
How many days do I need to explore Milan's main attractions?
A 2-3 day stay allows visitors to experience Milan's essential sights at a comfortable pace. The first day typically covers the Duomo Cathedral with its rooftop views the medieval Castello Sforzesco and the elegant Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Day two opens up time for viewing The Last Supper at Santa Maria delle Grazie followed by exploring the canal-lined Navigli district. As a TourRadar traveler mentioned "Three days gave us the perfect amount of time to see the major sites while still having time to enjoy the aperitivo culture and shopping districts."
What are the best shopping areas in Milan?
Milan's shopping landscape ranges from high-end boutiques to local markets. The Quadrilatero della Moda houses luxury brands including Gucci and Prada. Corso Buenos Aires stretches as Europe's longest shopping street offering mainstream retail options near UNAHOTELS Galles Milano. Local artisans and boutique shops fill the Brera district's narrow streets. A TourRadar traveler recommended "Exploring the vintage shops in Navigli and the designer outlets just outside Milan gave us the best mix of shopping experiences."
What are some unique experiences in Milan beyond the typical tourist attractions?
Lesser-known attractions reveal Milan's deeper character. The Cimitero Monumentale displays remarkable architectural sculptures while the Isola neighborhood showcases contemporary street art. The Highline Galleria offers unique city views from its rooftop walkway. Monthly vintage markets animate the Navigli's canalsides every last Sunday. A TourRadar traveler shared "Taking a cooking class in the Brera district and learning to make authentic risotto was the highlight of our trip - much more memorable than just visiting monuments."
How accessible is Milan for day trips to other destinations?
The city's robust rail network makes day trips simple and convenient. Trains reach Lake Como and Bergamo in an hour while Turin sits two hours away. Hotels near Milano Centrale like Hotel Indigo provide strategic locations for rail travelers. A TourRadar traveler mentioned "Staying near Milano Centrale made it easy to take day trips - we visited Lake Como and Bergamo without any hassle."
What's the best time of year to visit Milan?
Spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) bring pleasant temperatures around 20°C (68°F) and manageable crowd levels. Fashion weeks in February and September add energy to the city though hotel rates increase. July and August temperatures often reach 30°C (86°F) making sightseeing less comfortable. One TourRadar traveler mentioned: "We visited in September and had perfect weather for exploring the city and enjoying outdoor cafes around the Duomo."
