- AANTHONY CAPASSO· April 6th, 2023The trip was great, the temples, piramids and ancient sites was wonderful too see, the boat trip was amazing, our group was small (15 people,) witch was great, we all became like a cosy family,… siad, out guide was very helpful and very friendly, he went over and above to meet the needs of the group,… going to the pharmacy for some of us, making sure we had what we needed,…. At one point when we were in Aswan, on the boat, my wife and I wanted to go to the market place at night but nobody else in the group wanted to go,.. but siad, called a cab and took us anyway, he went around the market place and we had a great experience, I was surprised and flattered that he would go out of his way for only 2 of us,…. We enjoyed the experience so much we have already recommended wing buddy to a bunch of our friends and are planning out next tripShow moreTrip date: March 2023Review collected by Wingbuddy
- ACYNTHIA SMITH· April 22nd, 2023Elia was our well informed guide and was excellent. He was very attentive, patient with and helpful to tour members who had physical challenges. He allowed for input from tour members and was invaluable in providing guidance to local customs and expectations. He gave advice on purchases ranging from just local inexpensive artifacts to authentic ones from very reputable places. Our group was referred to as "Family". Fahad was also very helpful in meeting our group, guiding us through entry processes and getting us settled into our accommodations. Each member of the Wingbuddy team who interacted with us was friendly, helpful and respectful. If I could recommend a promotion and or raise for these valued employees, I highly suggest that it be considered, especially so for Elia. - AAnonymous· May 12th, 2023Automatic translation available in English. View in EnglishI had an incredible trip and was very impressed with the way the package unfolded. First of all, I've traveled a lot in my life and always on my own. This was my first time on a package tour and I was pleasantly surprised. For those who are not used to traveling, this package is perfect. A Wingbuddy representative takes care of you at the airport as soon as you arrive in Cairo, at the hotels, on the train, on the boat, in short, when they tell you there's going to be someone waiting for you, there's going to be someone waiting. Me, my wife and a couple of friends had asked for a French guide, and we got one for the 4 of us for the whole trip. There was an English-speaking group of about 14 people. As I understand it, your guide in Cairo may be the same throughout the trip. In our case, we had one guide in Cairo and another when we arrived in Aswan and got off the train for the rest of the trip. Speaking of the train, it's nothing grand, but it's part of the trip and part of the experience. Asking the guide before you get on the train to find you some beer to take with you makes the experience a little more enjoyable. The cruise, just wow. Well set up, pool on deck, a bar, food (nothing grand), but very good and the cabins overlooking the Nile, very nice. The archaeological sites, breathtaking. Egypt is a country with the most history in the world. There are extras for visits and I recommend it. Abu Simbel is about a 3h30 drive away and well worth the detour. The bus ride allows us to get some sleep and regain our strength. Normally, the bus leaves at 04:00 in the morning to get to the site and everyone leaves at that time, so there are a lot of people on the site (testimony from two French people I met on the trip). For us, our guide Moustafa, who is an excellent French-speaking guide to recommend to everyone, if you can choose, changed the schedule and we left at 07:00 in the morning and when we arrived at Abu Simbel, almost nobody, it was fantastic to visit and especially to take photos without having hundreds of people in the field of vision. Unfortunately, for the other sites to visit, it's always crowded, but in general it's fine. The guides will suggest other activities, it's up to you to decide, but I recommend them (e.g. camel ride to visit the pyramids from the desert - US$15, visit to a Nubian village - price varies etc.). In the Valley of the Kings, it's possible to pay for extras too. The package does not include a visit to the Valley of the Queens (the tomb of Queen Nefertari, the most beautiful tomb ever discovered, is a must-see, but there is an extra charge), but if you want to go there, it's possible to fit it into the schedule. Talk to your guide about all the options you'd like to do, and he'll arrange it for you. There's also a hot-air balloon ride for US$125 very early in the morning before the Valley of the Kings tour, which I highly recommend. Tips, according to Wingbuddy, are given on arrival. If you have the same guide from start to finish, yes, but if like us who had one guide for Cairo and another for the rest of the trip, you give the money to the second guide. This money isn't for the guides, it's for tips to drivers, ship's staff, etc... In short, plan to tip and don't be cheap to the guide(s) who go out of their way to make the trip enjoyable. If you'd like to stay a couple of days longer, as the 10-day trip is very busy, it's possible to do so, but talk to the agency before booking. Safety, very safe, and I know what I'm talking about, because I've been to countries that are much riskier than Egypt. Alcohol, it's a Muslim country, so there aren't many outlets, but it's possible to find some. Ask your guide. At hotels and boats, no problem, but limited choice. Wine, eurk, bring a couple of good bottles if you appreciate good wine. Money, US or Euros are accepted everywhere. For conversion, divide by about 30. Example: 300 Egyptian pounds = 10 US or Euros. Well done to Wingbuddy for this very well organized package and especially to the representatives in Egypt who are all dedicated to assisting us with our trip. Have a nice trip.Show moreWingbuddy commented on this reviewWhat a wonderful account of your travel experience! Egypt is indeed a country to discover for its beauty, its culture and its people! Asked on April 2nd, 2023I am a 75 year old lady with a walking cane and I have questions: On your tours, how are the restroom breaks? Are their long waiting lines? Are there a lot of stairs? Are there moments that have long standing periods?
- WingbuddyOperator•Written April 2023
The pace of the tour is not too strenuous. However, depending on the time of the year, there could be some lines to get in the sites and standing periods of time could be about 2 hours. Perhaps, it would be a good idea to have one of those cane/stool with your during the tour. There are not too many stairs, most sites are very accessible. Restrooms breaks are scheduled every couple of hours approximately.
