Itinerary
- Day 1
Deer Lake
Start settling into Newfoundland and take your time getting oriented. The day is pretty open, so you can choose what fits your mood. Paddle out on Deer Lake if you're feeling active, or head to the Newfoundland Insectarium if you'd rather stay closer to town. There are also some nice hiking trails in the area worth exploring. By evening, check out one of the local craft breweries for dinner and get a feel for the local scene.

- Day 2
Deer Lake to Rocky Harbour
Your adventure kicks off with a welcome meeting at 8 am where you'll meet your local leader and the rest of the group. After that, you'll drive out to Gros Morne National Park to see the historic Lobster Cove Lighthouse with its views of rocky coastline and rolling waves. The main event is walking on the Earth's mantle at the Tablelands, where you'll see that distinctive orange landscape set against the green and blue surroundings. You'll roll into Rocky Harbour by afternoon, and there's an optional dinner available if you want to eat with the group.

Rocky Harbour
After breakfast, make your way to Norris Point and Green Point, then walk along the Western Brook Pond Trail with views to enjoy during a picnic lunch. Next, board the Western Brook Pond Boat Tour to take in dramatic waterfalls, towering cliffs, and wildlife in this glacier-carved fjord, so bring your camera. Back in town by afternoon, you'll have time to freshen up before an optional dinner with your group.

Rocky Harbour to Twillingate
Start early for a scenic drive from Rocky Harbour to Twillingate, stopping for lunch at Deer Lake if that appeals to you. Once you check into your hotel, head out on a late afternoon boat tour to look for whales and seabirds. Spring visitors might catch icebergs drifting down Iceberg Alley. Back at your hotel, you can either relax or spend the evening exploring Twillingate, known as 'The Iceberg Capital of the World'.

Twillingate to Trinity
Begin at the Beothuk Interpretation Centre to learn about the Beothuk people and their history here. Drive to Gander and meet a local who'll share the remarkable story of 9/11, when roughly 6,600 diverted passengers landed there and temporarily increased the town's population by 70%. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue on to Trinity for a guided walking tour with another local. You can either hike up Gun Hill for views or join the group for dinner at a local spot.

Trinity to Bonavista
Head to Elliston this morning for one of the closest land views of puffins in North America. Keep an eye out for the Puffin King, a rock formation that looks like a puffin sitting on a throne. After a picnic lunch, drive 20 minutes north to the historic Cape Bonavista Lighthouse, one of the most photographed locations in Newfoundland. Climb to the top of the tower to see the seal oil-fuelled light from the 1800s.

Bonavista to St. John's
Today you'll drive from Trinity to St. John's with a stop at Cape Spear Lighthouse to take in the views and reach Canada's easternmost point. Check out the colourful houses on 'Jellybean Row' before getting settled at your hotel. After lunch, join your leader for a guided walking tour of St. John's. The evening is free to explore on your own, then gather for a farewell dinner featuring Jigg's dinner pie, a classic Newfoundland dish. End the night with a traditional 'screech-in' ceremony at a local pub, complete with screech (rum) and a kiss of a cod.
