- MGMaureen· February 18th, 2024The tour was very good and was certainly made extra special by our guidel Willhem who was so passionate about his homeland. My only criticism is how much time is spent on the coach. I'm aware we need to cover vasy distances but perhaps by adding 1 extra nights accommodation on the Garden Route would make it more relaxed. Everyone was exhausted by the time we got back to Capetown as so much is included.Show moreTrip date: February 2024
- Elaine· August 14th, 2023Our tour was action packed, full of interesting adventures, and excellent accomodations. Our guide, Michael Wright, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He shared his knowledge of the local flora and fauna, the various biomes, and the ecological challenges with a fun loving spirit. Being a non drinker, I could have done with fewer wine stops, but all in all, a fabulous tour!Show moreExpat Explore Travel commented on this reviewThank you for awarding us a 5-star rating! Asked on March 25th, 2025What is the average group size?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written March 2025
We truly cannot give a definite figure on the average size for each departure of this tour as it varies. It can be from around 25 to 40 if we are to base it on the last few departures.

Traveler•Written March 2025Why the difference in price charged was CA$3110 but the quote was CA$2,408.51?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written March 2025
It looks like you're not on your confirmed booking dashboard. I can see that you already have a confirmed booking for your Cape Town & the Garden Route tour, and the amount reflected there matches what you were expecting.

Traveler•Written March 2025On days 3 and days 8, do you have any alternate options for sightseeing besides "wine"? One day if wine is OK, but not 2 days,
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written March 2025
We currently do not have any tours that has a drop off point in Port Elizabeth. Also, our tours have a maximum capacity of 48 but if a smaller group wishes to do a Private Tour, we do offer that as well but the cost will be higher than the package that we offer for the regular tour. For both Day 3 and 8, although Wine Tasting is one of the highlights, there are also other activities offered for those days as it is a packed itinerary.

Traveler•Written March 2025Whale watching and kayak in Storms River. Are those possible?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written March 2025
That is not an experience that is offered for this tour but we have the below Optional Offered instead. Kayak & Lilo Adventure. This 2-3 hour Storms River Kayak & Lilo adventure is our most popular adventure activity where you can experience the best of Tsitsikamma has to offer! If you are keen to explore deeper into the Storms River Gorge and experience the long, deep, quiet pools with deep caves and ancient forests, then this excursion is for you!

Asked on February 24th, 2025I am travelling solo, but am fine sharing a room with another traveller. Is there still a single person supplement to pay? Is there an upfront fee we pay to the guide on Day 1, to cover things like entrance fees and tips? Do you have a price list for optional extras like diving with sharks? I have specified my preferred date of travel, how long is it likely to be before confirmation of the trip is given (I'm aware you need minimum numbers). I am 61 years old, can I confirm there is no age restriction?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written February 2025
If you do not opt for a private room you would not pay any additional fees for accommodation. The only time you would pay the guide upfront is for all non pre-sold optional excursions. I can confirm there are no age restrictions.

Asked on January 10th, 2025Single supplement for this date please, if possible?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written January 2025
A single supp/private room upgrade for this tour is currently 715.00 AUD. This will ensure that you have your own bedroom and private bathroom for the entire tour.

Asked on January 5th, 2025What vaccinations recommended and what season best for this tour?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written January 2025
No mandatory vaccinations are required. Depending on what you would like to see, mid-summer is usally a great time to be in Cape Town.

Traveler•Written January 2025Definitely want to see Penquins and when best to see as many animals in the safari parts as possible.
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written January 2025
Mid-summer season is the best suggestion that we can come up with regarding when to visit/join the tour.

Asked on June 29th, 2024I would like to have more info about your Tour "Cape Town and the Garden Route" starting from August 10th of 9 days. In particular, I need to know how long are the walking tour because I had an accident 3 months ago and I broke an ankle. I can walk for few km without problems but if the tour is very adventure could be a problem to me, unfortunately (I like adventure!).
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written June 2024
We believe the best way to get to the heart and soul of a city is on foot, surrounded by the people and the culture. For this reason, we do walking tours through most of the cities we visit. Many of the cities you visit are vast and old, often with steps and cobblestones. Our walking tours can last up to 3 hours with plenty of opportunities to take photographs and soak up the history of these fascinating places, but you do require a certain level of fitness to enjoy your tour to its fullest.
