- GCGeoffrey· September 24th, 2025The accommodation ranged from poor, our hotel in Bengaluru, to excellent, our hotel in Mysore, with the rest either good or very good. Our driver was well presented, reliable and very informative. The itinerary was well balanced with just enough to keep you occupied and interested without overdoing it. The guides were very knowledgeable and gave you ample time for photographs and also helping out with getting the best shots. We preferred the hills and the backwaters to the hustle and bustle of the cities and their temples, although on weekends even the hills are busy. Our tour was just after the monsoon season so still quite hot and humid which could be draining when walking around the temple sites. We are both in our early 70's but keep reasonably fit, however we found the 15 days just a little too long for us. We felt there was too much time spent travelling in the car. Travelling in Indian traffic is not relaxing, it is similar to being on an amusement park ride, you are constantly moving. One day we spent 8 hours travelling in the car. I am used to a group size of 12-16 with an age range of about 45-65 so I don't want to be with a very large group or with a lot of very young people who might want to go to clubs and party. Is the group primarily English speakers? Are you ABTA or ATOL registered, I don't know if this applies in India but in GB this ensures that the company are financially secure and carry necessary insurances to take people on trips. Finally are the tours in each city self guided or is their a guide?
