Victoria Falls
You'll arrive at Victoria Falls and have the day to yourself exploring the area. The water spray from the falls travels 20 to 30 kilometres out, which is why locals call it 'Mosi oa Tunya' or the smoke that thunders. Take your time getting oriented and soaking in the sheer scale of things here.

Livingstone to Kasane
From Livingstone, you'll head toward the Botswana border and continue on to Kasane. Once there, you'll get on a boat for a cruise down the Chobe River where massive elephant herds come to drink alongside lions, buffalo, and hippos. You might even see elephants swimming out to Sedudu Island.

Chobe National Park to Elephant Sands
An open vehicle game drive through Chobe takes up your morning, where you'll look for elephants, buffalo, and antelope. After that, you'll travel south to Elephant Sands, an unfenced area where wildlife roams freely. You can see elephants and antelope right from the central waterhole where you're staying.

Elephant Sands to Maun
You'll drive south past the Makgadikgadi Pans and baobab trees on your way to Maun. Stop in town to walk through traditional rondavel homesteads and pick up supplies. Check in by early afternoon and spend time by the pool before tomorrow's Delta trip.

Okavango Delta Expedition
A 4x4 truck takes you from Maun to the poler station where local Tswana guides meet you. From there, you'll travel by traditional mokoro dugout canoe through lily pads and grassy channels to a tented camp. Spend the afternoon in the wilderness and listen to the sounds of the African night.

Okavango Delta to Maun
After your night in the bush, you'll take a mokoro back to the poler station where your 4x4 picks you up for the return to Maun. You'll arrive around lunchtime. The afternoon is free for an optional scenic flight over the UNESCO site or you can relax at the pool.

Botswana to Namibia
You'll cross the border into Namibia and head to a camp near the frontier. Meet the San or Bushman people and join a guided bush walk where they'll share their ancient way of life and cultural traditions with you.

Namibia to Windhoek
Travel to Windhoek, Namibia's capital. Wander through town exploring local spots and restaurants. Joe's Beer House is a popular choice if you want to try the local dining scene.

Windhoek to Etosha National Park
Head north to Etosha National Park covering over 20,000 sq km with over 114 mammal species and 340 bird species. You'll drive to your accommodation, stopping at waterholes along the way to see animals. After dinner, check out the camp's floodlit watering hole where rhinos, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and lions often come to drink.

Etosha National Park
Spend the full day driving through Etosha, visiting different water points and searching for elephants, rhinos, antelope, and the Oryx which is Namibia's national animal. You'll see the park's white salt pan and possibly spot flamingos if water is present. Return at sunset for your last evening at the floodlit watering hole.

Etosha to Spitzkoppe
You'll drive out of Etosha and head south toward Damaraland and Spitzkoppe with its dramatic granite boulders and ancient bushman paintings. The rock formations reach about 1,800m above sea level. Explore on foot and take in the landscape. You'll camp under canvas here.

Landmarks/POIs Spitzkoppe - Day 12
Spitzkoppe to Swakopmund
Rise early to catch the sunrise reflecting off the rock formations. Then you'll leave Spitzkoppe and drive across barren desert to the Atlantic coast and Swakopmund. This coastal town has German-style architecture, shops, restaurants, museums, an aquarium, and art galleries. Walk the promenade or check out the town sights.

Swakopmund

Swakopmund to Desert Camp
Leave the coast and drive through rugged mountainous passes with different rock types. You'll cross the Tropic of Capricorn and stop for a photo at the southernmost circle of direct sunlight. Continue south to a desert camp and experience the quiet desert night with stars overhead.

Namib Naukluft National Park
Drive to Namib Naukluft National Park and trek to the top of Dune 45 for big desert views. After breakfast, a shuttle takes you to Dead Vlei surrounded by massive sand dunes. The light changes throughout mid to late morning offering great photos. Then visit Sesriem Canyon to see the desert's underground layers.

Fish River Canyon

Gariep Orange River
Journey south to the Gariep Orange River with accommodation on the Namibian banks. When you arrive, you can do optional activities like a canoe safari to see Richtersveld scenery, swim, or simply relax by the water.

Namibia to South Africa
You'll leave the Orange River and cross into South Africa, continuing through Namaqualand. This region is known for wildflower displays in August and September. Your accommodation overlooks the Olifants River in Cederberg. Try an optional local wine tasting if interested.

Cederberg to Cape Town
Leave the Cederberg area and head south through Citrusdal's citrus region, over Piekenierskloof Pass, and on to Cape Town where the tour ends.
