- AHAndreas· November 26th, 2024We had a wonderful time during our trip through Namibia with Across Africa Tours & Travel and can highly recommend! We are a couple from Germany, used to good hotels but also spend a lot of time in the mountains hiking and staying over in Alpine lodges. We normally also like to travel and explore a new country and culture on our own - but due to workload we did not have time to acquaint ourselves with Namibia before the trip so we've opted for a small group, organized trip. We found the offer short notice (3 days prior to departure) on Tourradar, booked on a Sunday - and received confirmation straight Monday morning! :) @Across Africa Tours & Travel: thanks for making this possible! Contact prior to the trip was very friendly, and questions were answered quickly. The trip in lodges and campsites was well organized. Car, drive, campsites, lodges, tent and equipment were all very nice, comfy and in good shape. We are minor neat freaks - but just bring a liner and your gear, and all is fine. Our trip went from Windhoek to Sossusvlei / Solitaire, Swakopmund and area, to Etosha and back to Windhoek. It was planned to arrive back in Windhoek late afternoon / early evening and we had no stress making our departure flight at 7:30 pm. We had a great time with our guide/driver, Shawn! Many thanks for the wonderful trip - we can truly recommend!! Due to the short-noticed booking we ended up travelling just the two of us, and Shawn did the best to cater to our needs and was very flexible. As far as possible, requests on alterations to the route (i.e. spending more time somewhere, taking out a stop but therefore adding another one on the route etc.) where done. His recommendations on additional activities and possible alterations where all worth while - of course, it's up to you to choose, but utilize your guide's connections where possible. For example, we very much enjoyed: - Hot-air balloon ride in Swakopmund (wanted to do this for years so took the chance. Hot-Air Ballooning Namibia was very safe, friendly, well organized, punctual for agreed pick-up etc.) - Jeep safari to Sandwich Harbour near Swakopmund (not cheap but very recommendable! done by Sandwich Dune Tours) - Open air jeep for safari in Etosha (contact through Shawn) - Recommendations on restaurants We also liked the BBQs, grocery shopping etc. - all added to the occasion. And in our conversations we also learned more about Namibia than if we had just travelled by ourselves. To us, it was a special trip to remember. It was only too short, but that's down to our availability. So we definitely want to come back and would book with Tourradar and Across Africa Tours & Travel again at any time!Show moreAcross Africa Tours & Travel commented on this reviewDear Andreas, Thank you so much for your kind words and for choosing Across Africa Tours & Travel for your Namibia adventure! Asked on June 10th, 2023Is it possible to travel alone on this trip: 7 Days / 6 Nights Sossusvlei, Swakopmund and Etosha National Park
- Across Africa Tours & TravelOperator•Written June 2023

Traveler•Written June 2023How much would the additional fee be? If I want to do camping etc?

Traveler•Written June 2023I am travelling by my self, and was looking to do this trip from august 7th. Not necessarily as a private tour just for me, but part of a group would be fine. What is the total price for these alternatives for me?
- Across Africa Tours & TravelOperator•Written June 2023
The tour you are interested in, starting from August 7th, does not currently have a group departure available. We recommend booking a private tour, which guarantees a departure with just one participant.

Asked on June 10th, 2022Can you tell me more about the camping accommodations please? And how hot the weather is in late August and Sept when camping?
- Across Africa Tours & TravelOperator•Written June 2022
In August and September the temperatures are just above 70°F and the chance of rain is low. This is also the best time for wildlife viewing, making it peak travel season. We provide the tent and the sleeping bags. Washroom and bathroom are shared and the camping grounds, while meals are at the lodges.

Jade
Traveler•Written June 2022Is every night in this particular tour staying in a tent? Or are there some lodge options some days too?
- Across Africa Tours & TravelOperator•Written June 2022
The camping option is camping through for six nights. If you opt to upgrade to some accommodation in lodges, I would recommend Swakopmund. The upgrade will cost an extra $120 on guest houses per person.

Traveler•Written June 2022Is this tour contingent on others joining the tour?? Like if we book now as 2 people for dates that work for us- can this be cancelled bc others do not join?
- Across Africa Tours & TravelOperator•Written June 2022
The trip has a minimum departure of two persons. You will be joining other travelers traveling to the same destination. Our group is small of up to 8 travelers. Incase the travelers cancel and we still have 2 travelers the trip will still go on.

Traveler•Written March 2022I'll be travelling solo. I'll be in Namibia for almost exactly a week, landing in Windhoek early afternoon on Saturday 17th April and flying back to the UK late afternoon on Saturday the 23rd. I'd like to see Deadvlei/the desert and also a safari at Etosha. The Friday & Tuesday departures won't quite allow me to do both activities. Do you offer 5 or 6 day packages that combine these two locations?
- Across Africa Tours & TravelOperator•Written March 2022
We have a seven-day tour starting on April 16. The trip covers the Namib desert, Swakopmund and Walvis bay area and Etosha. If you are flexible with the dates, this would be a great tour.
