Our trip was only 12 days but it left a lot longer and the group we were with were amazing, everyone got along and helped out. Our guide and driver were professional and outstanding examples of how a tour should be run. Justin was an great cook and knowledgeable about everything. If you get a chance to do this tour do it! Elephant sands and Etosha National Park were the stand outs for me.Show more

Asked on August 13th, 2024We are looking for safari, desert camping, meeting with local communities and we are open to every other typical experience! We were thinking of Botswana (because of the wild life) and Namibia for the amazing nature and views. Do you have any other recommendations?

Travel in east Africa is good for Jan/ Feb and early March. What normally happens then usually from late March is the beginning of the main monsoon season which lasts through April and May till early June. It is still possible to travel during that time - our tours run year round - but the weather and road conditions make travel a little slower and more challenging than in Aug/Sep/Oct.

Single supplements are not applicable on any adventure-style tours. Solo travellers will share a twin-bed room with a fellow solo traveller of the same gender. The 9th September tour date is available to book.

Every Acacia Overland tour has an Adventure Pass which is paid to your tour leader in Africa at the beginning of the tour (or pre-paid by arrangement prior to your tour). This is separate and in addition to the Tour Price, and covers selected park entries, activities and excursions along the way where payment goes directly to the supplier to ensure local suppliers benefit directly from the income.
