- Pam· September 2nd, 2025I completed this 6 day tour in late July. What a truly amazing experience. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. The driver/guide was amazing and the sights that we saw were truly magical. There we 18 of us in a very comfortable mini van. The accommodation choices were great as well. We even did additional adventures as the driver/guide was an experienced local. This tour was one I will never forget.Show moreTrip date: July 2025

- CVCha· July 28th, 2025Overall, the trip is good. However, one thing I want to mention is that the driver drove a little too fast. We drove along the coastline and the roads are narrow, up and down all the time. Many are gravel roads. There is not room on the side of the roads if vehicle slips. It was very dangerous.Show moreTrip date: July 2025
- CECharles· June 2nd, 2025Our guide (Carl) was wonderful. Personable, engaging, entertaining, solicitous - genuinely connecting with his group as individuals. Carl merits 5 stars. We expected the accommodations to be rustic, and they were, a bit more than expected. Space in rooms was sparse and clumsily arranged - one bathroom had the toilet paper dispenser so badly placed it made sitting on the toilet awkward. As 4 of 5 hotels we used were owned by Arctic Adventures, so they should be more aware of the comfort of the hotels.) I’d give 2 stars at best to the accommodations. The trip was well planed and the sites memorable - 4 1/2 stars.Show moreTrip date: May 2025
- HDHasan Ben· May 14th, 2025Great tour around Iceland. Our guide (Vicknar) was great. He made some additional stops at interesting places and gave us stories about his personal experiences growing up & living in Iceland. The planned sights visited were incredible and the hotels we stayed at were in great locations. The included activities were things you could only do in a handful of places like Glacier Hiking, Hiking to top of dormant Volcano Crater & Arctic Whale Watching Really enjoyed the stay and tour at the traditional Icelandic homestead. The museum was a pleasant surprise.Show moreTrip date: May 2025

- Nuha· April 7th, 2025While I had high expectations for this trip, several issues significantly impacted my experience: • Transportation Issues: A mini bus was provided for 17 people, which was inadequate for a road trip requiring a minimum of 350 km a day. The vehicle was cramped and uncomfortable, making long journeys difficult for everyone involved. • Guided Tours: he guided tours did not meet the promised standards. Arctic Adventure provided us with a driver who also acted as the guide. While he was friendly and nice, he lacked guiding experience. We did not receive a professional morning briefing for the day, nor clear information throughout our journey. Many of our questions went unanswered, which diminished the overall experience. • Sightseeing and break stops: The time allocated for sightseeing and breaks was not planned professionally. Some locations required more time for proper enjoyment, while others were given excessive time. This led to missed opportunities to fully appreciate the beautiful stops we visited. Additionally, we had unnecessary stops at gas stations and supermarkets, which further detracted from our experience. This led to missed opportunities to appreciate the stunning scenery and attractions. • Activities cancellation: Unfortunately, our whale watching tour was canceled due to bad weather. However, the way this cancellation was managed was not professional. We had a night in the lovely town of Akureyri, but due to a late arrival, we didn’t have a chance to explore. We noticed poor weather conditions in the morning and suggested to our guide that we check for alternative plans, like enjoying sometime in the town before proceeding. The guide assured us the weather was fine for whale watching. After a 30-minute drive, we were informed that the tour had been canceled with no alternative options provided. We ended up spending the day wandering between supermarkets, which was very disappointing given our expectations for this trip. • Customer Service: When I reached out for assistance during the trip, the response was unsatisfactory. Despite marking my emails as urgent, I did not receive a same-day response. There was no direct contact number provided for emergencies, and my inquiries were largely ignored. This left me feeling unsupported while dealing with unexpected service issues that I had paid for. • After-Sales Service: I sent multiple complaint emails with several reminders but received no response. While I received prompt replies before the sale, after-sales communication was nonexistent. This lack of support has been very frustrating. • Accommodation: The accommodation was acceptable and met my expectations These issues not only detracted from my overall enjoyment but also led to significant inconveniencesShow moreArctic Adventures commented on this reviewDear Nuha, Thank you for your feedback. Asked on August 12th, 2025Do you recommend we fly in day before tour starts? What time does the tour start on 4/2/26? Can you suggest an affordable hotel for night of 4/1/26 from which we can get transports to the tour on 4/2/26?
- Arctic AdventuresOperator•Written August 2025
We recommend to fly in a day before and fly out on a day after the tour. You would have time to explore Reykjavik on your own or relax after your flight, before the tour and vice versa. We recommend booking hotels that are set as our authorized pick-up locations.

Carmen
Asked on August 9th, 2025Can you pick us up in Reykjavik at Hotel Fron on June 27, 2026 to start the tour? If not where is the closest pickup location to the hotel?
- Arctic AdventuresOperator•Written August 2025
Unfortunately, we're unable to offer pickup directly from Hotel Fron, as it is not one of our authorized pickup locations. However, the closest designated pickup point is Bus Stop #6 – Safnahúsið (The Culture House), which is conveniently located just a short 5-minute walk from your hotel. We recommend arriving at the bus stop a few minutes early to ensure a smooth start to your adventure.

Traveler•Written August 2025We are disembarking our cruise ship the morning of June 26, 2026. Can you pick us up at their docking location to start the tour. This way we could add another day to the tour.
- Arctic AdventuresOperator•Written August 2025
Unfortunately, we will not be able to pick you up directly at the disembarking location. However, we do have an authorized pick-up location at the Skarfabakki harbor. Please see the scheme of the harbor, you would be picked up from the Skarfabakki harbor - parking lot for pre-booked tours.

Asked on August 5th, 2025What time does the tour start on the first day?
- Arctic AdventuresOperator•Written August 2025
The pick-up starts at 8:00 AM, and we ask all of our customers to show up at 8:00 AM at their pick-up locations. The duration of the pick-up process is around 20-30 minutes. Once the process is done, the whole group departs for the tour. If you are planning to arrive to Reykjavik a few minutes past 8:00 AM, it would be great if you could inform us in advance, so that we could inform the guide to pick you up the last one.

Traveler•Written June 2025Also what is the pick up time on Day 1 - start of tour
- Arctic AdventuresOperator•Written June 2025
The pickup time for the first day of this adventure is at 8:00 a.m. You will choose a pickup location which is in our authorized list, a bus stop or some of the hotels in the center of Reykjavik. On the last day we expect to arrive in the capital around 5–6 p.m. and will drop you off at your original pick-up point.

Asked on June 23rd, 2025Will you take a 7 year-old?

Asked on June 22nd, 2025I am thinking about booking one of your trips starting either on 3rd or 4th July. I would like to ask you when is it planned to start the journey on the first day? Roughly, at what time might the journey terminates in Reykjavik?
- Arctic AdventuresOperator•Written June 2025
The pick-up for the tour starts at 8:00 AM and we ask all of our customers to be ready and waiting at their pick-up locations by then. The duration of the pick-up process is around 30 minutes. You should be back in Reykjavik between 17:00 and 18:00 PM. We do not offer airport pick-up/drop-off services.

Traveler•Written June 2025Do I need cash or is it possible to pay everything by credit card? I will stay in Baron's Hostel. I guess, bus stop 8 will be the best pick-up location? In terms of the shoes. I guess one needs hiking shoes. Do they need to be crampon-compatible hiking boots?
- Arctic AdventuresOperator•Written June 2025
To use some toilets and showers in the highlands, you will need to have cash in Icelandic krónur (ISK). You can find ATMs in Reykjavík and large towns. However, for everything else, you can use your card. Bus Stop #8 is the closest pickup location to your place of accommodation. You are correct regarding the hiking boots; it should have good ankle support and be crampon compatible.
- R
Ron
Traveler•Written June 2025I will attach a photos of my ones. I guess they should be fine for spikes. They haven't a notch at the heel to adapt real crampon. Would you mind to tell me if they are sufficient?

Traveler•Written June 2025Is it possible to rent the shoes only for the ice hiking? If so, I would do that... How much would it be?
- Arctic AdventuresOperator•Written June 2025
It is possible to rent the hiking boots only for the hiking portion of the tour. The price would be around 11 USD per pair. You could rent them right before the hiking activity, at the booking hut.

Asked on June 17th, 2025I am 83 years old and looking for a tour without much walking. I see you have included a 3-hour hike to a waterfall. Are there other events like that as well? Would I be able to stay behind, maybe in a restaurant or coffee shop, and skip that event?
- Arctic AdventuresOperator•Written June 2025
The 6-Day Around Iceland is more of a sightseeing tour. If you do not wish to participate in the glacier hike portion of the tour - you can skip it and explore the area while the rest of the participants will be on the tour. Unfortunately, we would not be able to offer any refund for the skipped portion of the tour.
- M
Marina
Traveler•Written June 2025My concern is having somewhere warm to stay for the 3-hours while you are on the hike. Can you also send me the daily itinerary so I can be sure this is the right tour for me. And I'll be coming alone. Does that affect the price? If so, what would the cost be? What hotel do we stay in at Reyjavik so I could make pre and/or post tour reservations?
- Arctic AdventuresOperator•Written June 2025
You can always stay at the booking hut while the rest of the group will be on the tour, or you could explore the surrounding area. If you are a solo traveler and wish to have a single room, then you would have to add a single room supplement which would increase the price by 70 000 ISK, however if you are willing to share your room with another traveler of the same gender, you would have to select the twin room when booking the tour, that way the price will be the same. As you are looking at the 6-day Around Iceland adventure, you will not be staying in Reykjavik on any of the 5 nights.
