- Day 1
Guwahati
You'll arrive at Guwahati Airport and get transferred to your hotel. The city itself mixes modern buildings with older colonial-era structures, featuring narrow local streets and vibrant markets. If there's time before evening, check out Kamakhya Temple sitting on Nilachal Hill, or take a walk by the Brahmaputra River to catch the sunset.

Guwahati to Kaziranga
After breakfast, you're driving toward Kaziranga National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The route passes through rural Assam where you'll see tea gardens, rice paddies, and small villages that show how people live in this region. Once at your lodge, you can settle in or take a short walk around the grounds to get a feel for the natural surroundings.

Kaziranga
An early start gets you on an optional elephant-back safari through misty grasslands at dawn, which gives you a different perspective for spotting one-horned rhinos, deer, and birds. Back at the lodge for breakfast, then you'll join a guided jeep safari through the Central Range where you can see wildlife while driving across grasslands, forests, and wetlands with varied terrain.

Kaziranga to Shillong
Breakfast done, you're heading toward Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya known locally as the 'Scotland of the East' for its rolling hills and pine forests. On the way, stop at Umiam Lake (Barapani), a man-made reservoir with clear water surrounded by hills. The drive continues on winding roads through pine trees with occasional waterfalls. By evening in Shillong, check out Police Bazaar where shops, cafes, and street food vendors line the streets.

Shillong to Cherrapunjee and back
After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunjee, one of the world's wettest places and called the 'land of oranges'. You'll start at Seven Sister Falls where seven streams drop down a cliff face, then see Nohkalikai Falls, one of India's highest waterfalls. Explore Mawsmai Cave with its limestone formations, check out Koh Ram Hoh Viewpoint for sweeping views, walk through Eco Park, and stop at Shillong Peak on the way back for panoramic views. End with Elephant Falls, a three-tiered waterfall.

Dawki
You'll head to Mawlynnong Village, known as 'Asia's Cleanest Village', to walk through its tidy streets with bamboo houses and flowering plants. The Living Root Bridge is the main attraction here, where rubber tree roots have been shaped over generations to form actual walkways. See the Balancing Boulder, a huge rock balanced on a smaller stone. Later, go to Dawki, a border town known for the crystal-clear Umngot River where boats seem to float in midair. Return to Shillong by evening.

Shillong to Guwahati
After breakfast, leave Shillong and drive back to Guwahati. Check in at your hotel and spend the evening however you like, perhaps visiting local markets or relaxing by the Brahmaputra's riverside walkway.

Guwahati Departure
Start your day at Kamakhya Temple, one of India's most important Shakti Peethas located on top of Nilachal Hill. Explore the temple's spiritual practices and significance while taking in views of the Brahmaputra River and the city below. After that, head to the airport for your flight home.
