- WMWilliam· September 21st, 2023Overpriced and false advertising about the age limit resulted in a poor overall experience. The tour itinerary and the leader/driver were excellent and would get 5 stars however Acacia advertise these tours as exclusively for people 18-39 and this simply wasn't the case. When we arrived half the tour group were elderly (well into their 60's and 70's) and that meant straight away the group was divided into the young and the old. This also meant that I was partnered with an old man in my accommodation who snored so loudly it was completely impossible to sleep, even with ear plugs. This meant I was left with no choice but to pay more money to upgrade my accommodation to a single room and this simply blew out the cost of this holiday. I paid approximately $1400 more for the accommodated version of this tour so i could ensure i got a decent night sleep, but then had to pay another $500 or so to upgrade during the tour for my own room. If I had been on the camping version of the trip to start with I would have likely saved close to $1000.Show moreAcacia Adventure Holidays commented on this reviewDear William, Thank you for your review of our 21-day Serengeti to Victoria Falls Adventure Accommodated Tour. - AAndreaDamiani· August 2nd, 2019Starting this trip, I was a little worried about how I would be solo travelling in Africa. Moyenda was an amazing tour guide who is full of information and if he doesn’t know the answer to your question he’ll be sure to find out. He is very easy going with getting to know everyone and making sure we have the best trip possible. My trip wouldn’t have been the same without Moyenda!Show moreAcacia Adventure Holidays commented on this reviewOh wow! What lovely words, we'll let Moyenda know for sure, thank-you! Asked on September 7th, 2024Is purchasing an Adventure Pass compulsory for this tour?
- Acacia Adventure HolidaysOperator•Written September 2024
No the Adventure Pass is not mandatory. The main point about the AP is that it budgets for the 2 night excursion to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. (We have some clients have visited the Serengeti before and do not wish to pay to go again). If you dont pay the AP, you will remain in Arusha for the 2 nights and have the time at leisure to choose other options or simply to rest and relax.

Asked on November 21st, 2017What is the Adventure Pass?
- Acacia Adventure HolidaysOperator•Written November 2017
Every Acacia Overland tour has an Adventure Pass which is paid to your tour leader in Africa at the beginning of the tour (or pre-paid by arrangement prior to your tour). This is separate and in addition to the Tour Price, and covers selected park entries, activities and excursions along the way where payment goes directly to the supplier to ensure local suppliers benefit directly from the income.
