Had a great trip to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro with Viva Africa. It's such a wonderful experience to stand up there in almost 6.000 m. Hard to find words for it. The tour via the Machange Route was perfectly organized by Viva Africa Tours and the price was absolutely reasonable. On top of it, we (four people from Sweden, Portugal and Germany) had a lot of fun with our great tourguides Ally and Faraja. Without them we would have never made it to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro! Big big thanks again!!!

We were six girls and one boy who booked the trip with Viva Africa Tours . Everything was very good . We felt safe at all time. The equipment and food held high standard and all of us reached the top without any problems. We got a warm welcome when we got back to Rafiki backpackers. I would recomend this trip to everyone

Climbing Mt Kilimanjaro was one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had and it was made even more amazing doing it with Viva Africa Tours. Our guides Chua and Luis were so great, they were really encouraging and helped us be the first group to make it to the summit which was pretty special! The porters we had were so inspiring and definitely could not have done it without them. The food was so good, I was pretty blown away by such nice food being served to us 4,500m above sea level! Everything went very smoothly and I would definitely recommend using Viva Africa Tours if you are thinking of climbing Kilimanjaro.

I am currently in Tanzania and looking to join a group trek on Kilimanjaro I would prefer the Lemosho route, but I'd be willing to do Machame. I am a somewhat experienced hiker. I spent three months in Peru last year. In the past I did both Everest Base Camp and the Annapurna Circuit. I am not in my best physical condition, but I have hiked over 5,000 m several times and I know how to pace myself. I would need to buy a few pieces of gear, and so would appreciate assistance with that in Moshi.

Does my arrival time on the first day of this tour matter?

    Other
    • Viva Africa ToursOperatorWritten June 2016

Ideally arriving one day before your briefing, is what we recommend. However if your flight arrives on the first day, latest midday day at Kilimanjaro Airport, that will also be fine. The initial trek starts on the 2nd day. We will give you a briefing and check your gear on the 1st day and you will meet your mountain guides.
