- AnnMaria· February 8th, 2024I got Covid from someone in the group. For a high altitude hike like this, we should have been tested for Covid. It not like I could avoid it, we ate together in an enclosed tent.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewHi Ann Maria I was so sorry to hear that you picked up COVID during your trip. I have passed your feedback along to our operations team si that they can considder your this as they work to improve swervices for future cleints.Trip date: January 2024

- AAmber Song· June 6th, 2022This was my first G Adventures tour. James and his team blew me out of the water. We had 40-something people with us for our group of 12. Every one of them provided excellent service and genuinely cared for us and our goals. I have never felt better taken care of by people I just met. The Kilimanjaro team in Tanzania is the only reason I was able to summit, especially given how sick I was feeling all week. I can't say enough good things about them!Show moreTrip date: May 2022Review collected by G Adventures
- Katie· December 28th, 2022My mom and I have always spoken so highly about this company. We have been on 3 trips with them already and have had the time of our lives. That is why we were so happy to book them again for our Mt. Kilimanjaro climb. The reason I leave such a poor review is because our flight got canceled on Christmas Day, when we arrived at the airport. There was no way for us to get a flight to Tanzania in time to make the climb. G Adventures only refunded us $350 of credit per person towards our next tour with them, which is useless because we will never tour with them again. We lost $8,500 on Christmas Day because they will not refund us and they were unwilling to make any alternative arrangements. We trusted this company and they could have easily accommodated our change in schedule. We found this out because it took us minutes to find another reputable company to take us up privately for a lower price and more flexibility. We consider that money stolen and their inflexibility and lack of compassion is at odds with the G Adventure's brand.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewHi Katie, Thank you for taking the time to send through your feedback. - Chad· June 20th, 2021I am very happy that Tour Radar led my friend Peter (who originally started planning this trip, then had to back out) to G Adventures and Gerald's Dream Team. By the end of the trip, we were all family. We (the climbers) trusted them with our lives, and they took excellent care of us.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewHi Chad, Thanks for your positive words! Asked on September 13th, 2024What if I start the hike and decide it's too difficult? I'm not concerned about the hiking but the altitude.
- G AdventuresOperator•Written September 2024
Everyone will handle the high altitude and thinner air differently and to varying degrees, which is why we try to keep the ascent slow and steady. The more time you give yourself to acclimatize, the easier your attempt at the summit will be. If you suffer from altitude sickness and do not feel like you can continue, the porters will be able to assist you down the mountain. The best way to prepare is to hike and hill-walk wherever you can in the weeks leading up to your departure in order to build up your stamina and climbing muscles. (A stair-climber at the gym is a good alternative if you don't have any mountains at the ready.) Start training six months out. With a little preparation, you should get to the top without much trouble.

Asked on June 27th, 2024While traveling to Mt Kilimanjaro, is the guide taking them to the location, or do they have to arrive at Mt Kilimanjaro on their own?

This trip officially starts in the town of Moshi, where you'll spend the first night in a hotel before making your way with the group to begin the trek to the Machame Camp on Day 2. You'll just need to get to our Moshi hotel (we can also offer airport transfers from JRO airport) and we'll take care of everything from there.
