Itinerary
- Day 1
Tralee
You'll arrive in Tralee, County Kerry's main town, where there's quite a bit to explore right away. Shops, restaurants, and bars line the streets, so you can grab a meal or walk around and get your bearings. Both bus and train connections run from Dublin and other Irish towns into Tralee's main stations, so getting here is straightforward if you're coming from elsewhere.

- Day 2
Tralee
Start with an easy walk from Tralee heading toward Blennerville, then the route opens up into a longer traverse across the slopes of Slieve Mish. You'll get excellent views looking back toward Tralee and out to Brandon Mountain. The terrain varies between roadside paths, canal walks, minor roads, open mountain, and small laneways, so it keeps things interesting.

Tralee to Annascaul
After crossing a low pass to the south side of the peninsula, superb views appear of Inch Strand, Castlemaine Harbour, and the mountains around them. You'll walk old disused roads across moorland, through conifer plantations, and along minor roads through farmland on your way to Annascaul. The landscape changes quite a bit as you move through different terrain types.

Annascaul to Dingle
Quiet country roads take you to a small cove and castle ruin, then the route turns inland through scenic farmland toward Lispole with wide mountain views opening up before you. You'll descend into Dingle, a small fishing port town worth exploring. There are restaurants, craft shops, cafes, and pubs scattered around, plus live Irish music most evenings if you want to catch some.

- Day 5
Dingle
Today's a rest day in Dingle, so use it however suits you best. The town has fine musicians and good food if you want to stay in restaurants and pubs, or you could head out on a boat trip from the harbour to see dolphins, puffins, and other wildlife. Otherwise just walk around at your own pace and soak up the fishing port atmosphere.

- Day 6
Dingle to Dunquin
From the quiet beach at Ventry, you'll walk along the sand before heading up to traverse Mt Eagle's shoulder. This section offers some of the trip's most dramatic views, looking across Slea Head toward the Atlantic and out to the Blasket Islands. The terrain mixes small roads, beach walking, vehicle tracks, and boreens as you work your way across the mountain.

- Day 7
Dunquin to Ballyferriter
This day delivers outstanding coastal scenery with cliff-top stretches, long beach walks, and a rugged Atlantic coastline throughout. You'll follow minor roads, boreens, coastal paths, and cliff-top walking. Along the way, stop at the Louis Mulcahy pottery craft centre where you can watch professional potters throw clay and try working the wheel yourself if you want.

Ballyferriter to Cloghane
This is the tour's most dramatic and challenging day. You'll cross the shoulder of Mt Brandon and descend down to Brandon Bay, then switch to easier walking heading toward the village of Cloghane. The terrain is rougher here with minor roads, moorland, hillside trails that can be boggy in places, and field paths, so it demands more from you physically than some other days.

Cloghane to Castle Gregory
A long day but not particularly hard, you'll walk mainly along Ireland's longest beach with nice seascapes including views of the Maherees. After that extended beach walking, quiet country roads take you through the shores of Cloghane and Tralee Bay, and then more quiet roads carry you into Castle Gregory by evening.

Castle Gregory to Tralee
After a morning beach walk, the route winds inland via Camp to cross the lower slopes of Slieve Mish. From there you'll descend to Blennerville and loop back to Tralee where you started. The terrain includes quiet roads, beach walking, boreens, rough moorland track, and a canal walk, bringing things to a nice finish on familiar ground.
