- Day 1
Johannesburg to Khama Rhino Sanctuary
You'll depart Johannesburg at 06:30am and drive north into Botswana, heading toward the Khama Rhino Sanctuary. This community-based wildlife project focuses on rhino conservation and restoring natural habitats across the Kalahari sandveld. Around the natural waterholes, you'll see white rhino, zebra, and wildebeest going about their day.

Khama Rhino Sanctuary to Maun
The drive takes you through the Kalahari landscape to Maun, which serves as the gateway to the Okavango Delta. Founded in 1915 as the capital of the Batawana people, this 'Wild West' town has a long history tied to cattle ranching and safari operations. The name comes from the San word 'maung', meaning 'the place of short reeds'.

Landmarks/POIs Maun - Days 3 - 4
Okavango Delta
You'll drive into the Okavango Delta and reach the launch station where you board mokoro, traditional dug-out canoes poled by skilled guides. From there, it's a peaceful journey along reed-lined channels to your tented camp in the heart of the world's largest inland delta. Watch for red lechwe, buffalo, and elephant moving through the waterways, and listen for kingfishers and other birds throughout.

Moremi Game Reserve
For the next four days, you'll take open 4WD vehicles into Moremi Game Reserve for extensive game viewing. Chief's Island, the largest landmass here, was once the Batswana tribe's prime hunting ground and offers exceptional wildlife encounters with elephant, hippo, buffalo, and lion. A unique experience involves descending into an underground hide where you'll be so close to large bull elephants you can hear them breathing. You'll return to Maun on day 8 around midday.

Landmarks/POIs Moremi Game Reserve Chief's Island - Day 9
Maun to Nata via Makgadikgadi Pans
Before heading to Nata, there's an optional game flight over the Okavango Delta available at your own expense. From there, the landscape shifts dramatically to the Makgadikgadi saltpans, which stretch out as a glaring white plain. When rains arrive, thousands of wildebeest and zebra migrate to the grasslands while flamingo populations feed in the algae-rich waters. Recent years have brought more water to the pans due to higher rainfall.

Landmarks/POIs Makgadikgadi Pans - Days 10 - 11
Chobe National Park
Focus shifts to the Chobe River, which forms the northern boundary of Chobe National Park and draws some of Africa's largest elephant herds. You'll start with an early morning 4WD game drive through the park, then later take an afternoon sundowner cruise on the river to watch the elephant herds come down to drink as the day ends.

Victoria Falls
You'll reach Victoria Falls, known locally as 'Mosi oa Tunya' or 'the smoke that thunders', one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The falls are surrounded by a lush rainforest fed by constant spray, creating habitat for colorful birdlife. Adventure options like white water rafting on the Zambezi River, bungi jumping, and scenic flights are available at your own expense.
